Teen Mom Farrah Abraham’s Family Feud
Teen Mom Farrah Abraham is embroiled in a bitter family feud with the family of her deceased boyfriend, Derek Clark, over visitation of their 21-month old daughter, Sophia.
Derek’s mother, Stormie Clark, says she refuses to give up her fight to see her granddaughter, despite a judge recently denying her visitation rights.
“In the state of Iowa in order to get grandparents rights your child has to be deceased and my son passed away,” Stormie told Radar Online. Her son died tragically in a car accident in 2008, just two months before baby Sophia was born.
“The easiest thing to do would be to talk to Farrah and work this out. I am 110% willing to do that, but that’s not the case for her. Prior to trying to get visitation I’ve tried to reach out to Farrah while she was pregnant and she just ignored me.”
Farrah got in touch with Derek’s sister Kassy while filming season two of the MTV hit Teen Mom. The show famously filmed the girls’ emotional reunion after they learned the results of Sophia’s paternity test. However, Stormie insists that things have changed.
“My daughter is not on the show anymore because Farrah only wanted her on the show for ratings and now wants nothing to do with her. I think Farrah has changed her phone number so none of us can call her.”
Now, Stormie is researching options for visitation rights that extend beyond the court system. “I’m not sure [what the next step is] but I’ll soon find out. I don’t have a lawyer anymore. I’m looking into things on my own,” she told Radar Online.
As for why Farrah won’t allow Sophia to see her paternal grandmother, Stormie says, “She’s spiteful. She said on the show that we never supported the relationship [between her and my son] but her family didn’t support the relationship either.”
