The 2010 CMA (Country Music Association) Awards will be handed out tonight and this year is expected to be one of the most star-studded, entertaining nights in the history of the event.
Anyone and everyone from the world of country music will be in attendance for tonight’s show, which includes performances by some of the world’s most respected musicians.
If you’re planning to watch tonight’s awards, here are some of the highlights you can look forward to:
Kellie Pickler and Ellen DeGeneres Join Forces on the Red Carpet. I can’t think of two better and more hilarious people to host the red carpet together. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this incredible pre-show event.
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley Co-Host. Just like I can’t think of two better people to host the red carpet show, I can’t think of two better people than Carrie and Brad to host the actual event. As we’ve seen in the past, the two complement each other very well on-stage. Plus, who doesn’t like seeing Carrie change outfits countless times in one night?!?
Leann Rimes Presents First Award. She’s been trying to stay out of the spotlight for the past year but, after her widely popular interview with Robin Roberts last week, Leann is ready to make her comeback appearance on tonight’s show. Wonder what she’ll wear…
Miranda Lambert’s Highly Anticipated Performance. Miranda has been teasing fans for the past few weeks, promising to reveal a new body during her two performances tonight. Miranda tells PEOPLE that she’s been working out really hard and she will reveal her new, fabulous figure tonight. The engaged songstress will perform both on her own and alongside Sheryl Crow in a tribute to Loretta Lynn. Ms. Lambert is also expected to take home at least a few awards – after all, she is nominated for a whopping 9 trophies tonight!
Taylor Swift’s Highly Anticipated Performance. Taylor Swift’s album release late last month was one of the single most successful country album releases in the history of country music. Tonight, she’s expected to perform her hit Back to December – a song she reportedly wrote about her ex-fling Taylor Lautner (should be interesting)!
Gwyneth Paltrow’s CMA Debut. Gwyneth Paltrow has expressed incredible excitement over her performance tonight. The actress will sing alongside Vince Gill and is expected to reveal an incredibly svelte figure during her performance. Why is she so small? Gwyneth told the press that she’s too nervous to eat and has lost several pounds over the last few weeks in anticipation for the event.
Other performers include Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton (Miranda Lambert’s fiancé), George Strait, Sugarland, Keith Urban and Kid Rock.
Fans can also expect duets from Zac Brown Band/Alan Jackson and Kelly Clarkson/Jason Aldean (in addition to Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow).
