Kate Middleton, Prince William Engaged Officially: A Royal Wedding in the Works!
Breaking News: Kate Middleton and Prince William are Engaged!
Forget Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson (or Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo for that matter), Prince William and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton have officially announced that they are engaged and are ready to tell the world (some of) the details of the wedding.
“Everyone is absolutely delighted. He has never had eyes for any other woman since Kate came on the scene,” says an old friend. “She is going to make a wonderful wife, a wonderful princess.”
The official statement can be read on PEOPLE.com but the soon-to-be-married couple, both 28 years old, are set to wed in Spring or Summer of 2011 in the beautiful city of London, England. They have been dating for over 8 years.
The statement also reveals that the Royal couple got engaged during a private holiday in Kenya in October (how could they keep it a secret this long?!?) and Prince William has informed the Queen of his decision to marry Kate.
In true gentleman style, William also sought the permission of Kate’s father before asking her to marry him.
And what does the future have in store for the high profile couple? According to the statement, “following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.”
This will no doubt be the wedding of the year!
Now, onto the more important things…what will Kate wear on the big day?!?
