British hit-maker Cheryl Cole could soon be coming stateside. The Girls Aloud singer and judge on the UK’s ‘X Factor’ talent program has reportedly secured a deal for the American version of the show, rumored to be worth up to $6 million.
Previously insiders called Cheryl a “good bet” to join Simon Cowell on the program next year.
Simon quit his ‘American Idol’ judging duties last year in order to focus on the launch of ‘X Factor America.’ “This is everything to Cowell, he has to make sure it’s right,” a source told the UK’s Daily Mail.
Simon famously helped Cheryl launch her solo career in the UK by giving her a seat at the ‘X Factor UK’ judging table. By bringing the British singer stateside, Simon again seems to be helping out his pal who will likely use the television show to jump-start a music career in the United States.
The show source continued, “When Cheryl goes to America she will also launch her music career there too. It’s the next part of her big plan. She’s an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on the X Factor, which is set to be a sure fire hit.”
Universal Music is said to be ready to release the singer’s second solo album, ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ in 2011.
When asked about Cheryl’s new role a spokesperson for the ‘X Factor’ show said, “No decision has been made yet.” However an official announcement can’t be more than a few weeks away. Simon has said previously that he would announce the hosts of ‘American X Factor’ in December.

Bring the accents on! I read some snotty person at Fox said Cheryl will need to speak better so people can understand what the Hell she is saying…What a JERK! I am sick of our accents and horrible use of the language, and maybe if we can listen to people speaking correctly for a change it will inspire us to become literate. How about that? I wish all of our new networks would fire the Americans and hire all UK reporters. THEN I would bother to watch! Right now I could care less.Cheryl, DO NOT change your accent! I LOVE it!
