Their life as newlyweds began with two lavish ceremonies on different continents. But the end of their married life was announced much more simply, as British model Elizabeth Hurley confirmed the news of her separation from husband Arun Nayar on Twitter.
“Not a great day,” she tweeted. “For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this.”
Rumors that Elizabeth was having an affair with Australian cricket pro Shane Warne, may have compelled the model to go public with the news of her failed marriage. Elizabeth and Shane have reportedly been exchanging flirty tweets since the summer, when the pair was spotted at the Goodwood races in July.
Arun, an Indian-German textile heir and software entrepreneur, married the Estee Lauder model in 2007 – first in a civil ceremony in an English castle, and later in a traditional Hindu ceremony in the groom’s homeland of Jodhpur, India.
Elizabeth has one child, an 8-year old son, Damian with her ex, millionaire Stephen Bing. Currently the model is working on a line of healthy organic snack foods, produced on her organic farm in Gloucestershire, her primary residence during her 3-year marriage.
