Russian Vogue has made the alleged mistress of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin their January cover girl. The controversial decision was made by Vogue editor-in-chief, Viktoria Davydova, who notably placed the words, ‘Her Main Victory’ between her legs.
Maybe it’s a poorly placed reference to Alina’s Olympic gold medal for rhythmic gymnastics which she won in Athens at the 2000 Olympic games. Or, a reference to her quick rise to prominence in Putin’s political party. (Coincidence?)
Still one thing’s for sure, when the issue is officially released, it will not be without controversy, and may stir up trouble for Viktoria.
A tabloid paper who reported allegations of a secret wedding between Vladimir and Alina in April 2008 was mysteriously shut down soon after, the Daily Mail reports.
It has also been suggested that the Prime Minister is the father of the baby boy Alina gave birth to last year. Friends close to her told the Daily Mail, “When Alina finds the right time, she will say it herself. Right now I’m just happy for her.”
In a 2008 press conference Vladimir denied there was any truth to the stories about him and Alina, later claiming that his infrequent public appearances with his wife were due to his “immense workload.”
His wife’s absence has only increased rumors of a secret divorce and possible marriage to the 27-year old gymnast.
