Football star Tony Romo has just popped the question to Candice Crawford, the sister of Gossip Girl actor Chase Crawford, and a former Miss Missouri. Of course, she said yes [via MTV]!
Tony proposed in front of her friends and family at Dallas hotspot Five Sixty while Candice was celebrating her 24th birthday. Dallas CW affiliate KDAF, where the future Mrs. Romo works as a sports reporter, was naturally the first to break the happy engagement news Thursday night, also posting a picture of her beautiful engagement ring!
Candice and Tony started dating in 2009, shortly after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback split with country singer Jessica Simpson.
Jess of course is engaged to former NFL’er Eric Johnson, who just happened to ask her to marry him almost immediately after Jessica’s other ex, Nick Lachey, announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo.
Just ahead of Tony Romo’s announcement, Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, told US Weekly that the singer was “the happiest she’s ever been in her entire life –” again.
“She is in love and I know she will have so many love songs to write straight from the heart for her new record,” he said.
