How did this happen? It’s already the end of 2010! Some of the big stars and big news stories of 2010 included Taylor Swift, health care reform, the BP gulf oil spill and Prince William getting engaged. Let’s hope that next year, we’ll see even less of Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin…a girl can hope!
Happy New Year 2011! What are you plans and new year’s resolutions? Many people are looking for funny new year’s resolutions this year. Forget about losing weight or exercising more. Maybe you need to drink more, spend more money, wear more polka dots, swear more or eat fewer vegetables. The possibilities are endless!
In the meantime, let’s eat. Here are some big New Years day food traditions to bring you luck and good fortune:
Black Eyed Peas/Hoppin John – check out this recipe from Emeril Lagasse!
Doughnuts – here’s a healthy version with maple glaze and sour cream from Cooking Light.
Champagne – it’s not new years’ eve without champagne…but if you want to mix things up this year, try it in one of these 90 champagne cocktail recipes instead of plain!
And finally, some quotes to ponder as the clock counts down to midnight:
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning”. – T.S. Eliot
“It’s a long December and there’s reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last.” – Counting Crows, “A Long December”

“Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.” -Oprah Winfrey
“Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man.” -Benjamin Franklin

Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand so much about this, like you wrote the guide in it or something. I believe that you just can do with a few p.c. to pressure the message house a bit, but other than that, this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
