Ted Williams Homeless: Man With Golden Voice Becomes You Tube Sensation (Watch!)
Ted Williams was hoping and wishing for a second chance, panhandling along Ohio’s I-71. A former radio announcer, Ted lost his job – and his home – after struggling with severe addictions to drugs and alcohol.
“I have a god given gift of voice,” read the sign Ted was holding to solicit spare change from passing drivers [via Amplifier]. “I’m an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you and God bless. Happy holidays.”
Lucky for Ted, a passing motorist noticed his sign and listened to his amazing voice – and story – recording a video of the former radio DJ and putting it on You Tube. In just one day, Ted’s video received more than 3 million You Tube views.

Now two and a half years sober, Ted appeared on the CBS Early Show Wednesday morning, and has already received interest from WNCI, one of the biggest radio and voice over agencies in the world, Manolith reports.
“God is good and the only difference between now and the time I did have some success is that now I am more appreciative of life and I’m not taking it for granted,” Ted said on the CBS morning show. Check out the full interview below:
