The Tucson, Arizona shooting that left six people dead and 14 wounded Saturday is quickly becoming one of the biggest news stories of 2011.
A gunman opened fire outside a supermarket in Tucson, Arizona yesterday in an alleged attempt to kill representative Gabrielle Giffords.
While Gabrielle remains in critical but stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the head, six other people on scene that day were not as fortunate.
One of the victims was a nine-year-old girl names Christina Green who is actually the second cousin of One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush.
Sophia took to her Twitter page today to express her sadness over the situation:
“There are no words to explain what my cousin’s family is going through in Arizona. How can this be? Violence is never the answer… she was my 2nd cousin… Devastating…”
It truly is devastating.
Christina was a September 9/11 baby who was featured in the book “Faces of Hope” which represented children from each state who were born on September 11, 2001.
The shooting suspect, 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner, is set to appear in court.
