After You Tube video of his ‘golden radio voice’ went viral, life has been changed quite quickly for Ted Williams. The former homeless man suddenly found himself with job offers to spare and television appearances from New York to Los Angeles.
But it was in LA that Ted found himself in trouble with the law, after an altercation with his 29-year old daughter Janey, Monday night. Janey claims that he drinks an entire bottle of vodka every night, while the new Kraft spokesman says Janey hit him.
“I wanted to bring it to a close by just saying, ‘Shut the hell up and let me talk to your mother,’” Ted told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday [via the New York Daily News]. “When that was out of my mouth, my daughter exploded – fists got a flyin’ – none of which were mine,” the recovering alcoholic continued, showing the camera the scratches on his face.
Sharing her side of the story, Janey alleges that it was her father who went on the violent tirade. “He said ‘You fat [expletive],’ and when he said that, I just got angry.”
However, Ted insists that his daughter is simply trying to take advantage of him, claiming, “[Janey is] selling me out on this fame and fortune ticket.”
Ted was taken to the police station and released an hour later. An LAPD spokesperson tells the New York Daily News that no charges were pressed.
