Ashlee Simpson Files For Divorce From Pete Wentz
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are getting a divorce. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ashlee filed a petition in L.A. County Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Ashlee is also asking for joint custody of their 2 year-old son, Bronx, spousal support and child support. The couple reportedly has no prenup – yowza!
Ashlee, 31, and Pete, 26, started dating in late 2006 and got hitched in May 2008. It was the first marriage for both of them. “He’s a cutie,” Ashlee told People Magazine in 2007. “He has an awesome personality and kind of brings out the best of me and I knew that even before we were dating. There was just like an awesome connection we had.”
After they’d been dating almost a year, Pete gushed: “We’re past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it’s crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It’s just a really awesome thing.”
Some speculated the couple got engaged so fast because Ashlee was pregnant…
