Brad Womack is already the single most controversial Bachelor in the history of ABC’s hit show and he’s sparking more controversy this week.
E! News is revealing today that Brad proposed to his real-life girlfriend of over 3 years, Laurel Kagay, right before he began starring as ABC’s bachelor.
Laurel, 31, opened up to US Weekly revealing that Brad proposed to her “countless” times and his last attempt was just weeks before he left to shoot this season. Not really characteristics of a commitment-phobe if you ask me, but let’s move on anyways.
Laurel also tells the mag that she received emails from Brad after he started shooting the show – gasp!
And, as with most things Bachelor/Bachelorette related, the story doesn’t stop there.

Those of you who watched Jillian’s season will most likely remember Wes Hayden (he was also on Bachelor Pad). There was much controversy surrounding Wes and the rumors that he had a girlfriend back home.
I’ll give you one guess who that girlfriend was. That’s right, Laurel Kagay.
According to a Texas food blogger who’s daughter is best friends with Laurel, Laurel met Wes before he was accepted onto The Bachelorette and she was the woman Wes kept referring to back home.
Wow, what a mess!
Luckily, Laurel is out of the picture – for both Brad and Wes at the moment. Perfect time to sell her story to a tabloid and earn an extra 15 minutes of fame, right?
