Jessica Simpson in New York Magazine: Skinny or Photoshopped?
Jessica Simpson rocks the cover of the new spring fashion issue of New York Magazine, with crazily-teased hair and bare shoulders and back. Inside the mag, the 30 year-old wears a baggy black t-shirt and no pants. Much has been made of the star’s fluctuating weight and sometimes-questionable fashion decisions (we all remember those hideous “mom jeans”) – but this time, she looks totally hot.
Her arms and stomach are covered up, but her legs look amazeballs! They’ve probably always been her best – or at least most toned – feature. Do you think the pic has been heavily Photoshopped?
Either way, Jessica has a lot to celebrate this Valentine’s Day, since she’s engaged to hottie Eric Johnson and is on track to make $1 billion in sales this year with her fashion line. ”I never thought I’d be some fashion mogul!” she told the magazine.
Her manager explained why her line does gangbusters: “A girl could go to the shopping mall with her mother and she’d have a great new outfit and still have some money left for lunch at McDonald’s. She can look like Jessica Simpson, smell like Jessica Simpson, and she can afford it.” Here’s hoping the manager didn’t mean smelling like chicken nuggets…
Jessica says that focusing on the consumer – and not herself – is the key to success. “When it comes to other celebrity brands, I think a lot of people do a great job, but it can’t be all about them. Everybody doesn’t want to just look like the celebrity, because they can’t. They just want one element of that style.”
You go, girl!
