Adrianne Palicki Cast as Wonder Woman
David E. Kelley has found his Wonder Woman. Deadline Hollywood reports that Adrianne Palicki of Friday Night Lights and the short-lived Lonestar will play the beloved superhero in the new NBC pilot.
In the original 1970s show, Lynda Carter played the badass vixen. The new version will feature Diana as “is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.” I can totally relate. According to The Huffington Post, the new show will also give Wonder Woman a third alter-ego: an assistant. (You know, the economy and everything.)
What do you think of the casting choice? Apparently, Adrianne, 27, didn’t have much competition; she was the only actress to do a screen test for the role. She might not seem like the most obvious pick, but she did once play a villain in Aquaman, a show that never made it to the air. Check it out:
