Barbara Walters has interviewed many controversial figures in her day and most show her the respect she thinks she deserves when she’s conducting an interview. Most do but Jessica Hahn did not.
Jessica Hahn, the woman who had an affair with married televangelist Jim Bakker, appeared on today’s episode of The View and tempers flared between she and Barbara Walters when Barbara questioned her morals and integrity.
During the interview, Barbara questioned Hahn about her affair with Bakker. Barbara proceeded to criticize Jessica for having sexual relations with a married man. But wait, here’s where things get interesting: Any one of you who’ve read Barbara’s book Audition know that Barbara herself admitted to having an affair with a married senator.
Pot meet kettle.
Needless to say, Jessica saw the irony in Barbara’s comments and quickly pointed out that Barbara admitted to having an affair in her book. Barbara quickly jumped to her own defense by making it clear that they were not there to interview her, they were there to interview Jessica.
Looks like Barbara can dish it out but she can’t take it.
Jessica’s comments were not only hilarious but they were dead on. Who in their right mind would chastise someone for doing the exact same thing they’ve admitted to doing in the past?
Come on, Barbara. We thought you had more common sense than that.
