You know what’s better than Valentine’s Day? Yes, every day… but mostly National Margarita Day 2011! That’s right, today is the day when you can slurp down a dozen of those yellowy green masterpieces without being judged. (It’s okay to lick the salt off your glass, right? I always do that…)
Check out your options for 2011 margaritas:
1. Classic
Want to wow your friends with your bartending skills? For how to make a margarita, try some of these recipes from Cooks.com. Here’s the easy Super Margarita:
Ingredients:
4 oz. Cointreau
4 oz. Tequila
4 oz. freshly squeezed key lime juice
ice, as desired.
Combine ingredients and shake with ice or pour over ice, or pulse in blender.
Dip serving glass in water then dip edge of glass in salt.
Makes 4 servings or serves one, four times.
2. Healthy
Bravo’s Bethenny Frankel has crafted an empire with the Skinnygirl Margarita. They’re only 100 calories, so let’s see….six of them would only be 600 calories! (I’m not sure that’s what Bethenny had in mind, but today is a holiday, after all.) All you need is tequila, orange liquor and lime. Click here for more info!
3. Lazy
If all that mixing is just too much for you, check out the bottled Classic Margaritas from Mike’s Hard Lemonade. They’re made with real lime and agave nectar, and you can find them in six packs of three flavors: Traditional Lime, Raspberry and Peach.
Bottoms up!
