It’s just half an hour before the highly anticipated Oscars 2011 kickoff and there have already been so many red carpet arrivals. While some of the women rocked the red carpet in high fashion (be sure to check out our Best Dressed list), others disappointed in questionable gowns that left many wondering what they were thinking when they picked out their Oscar outfits.
So far, we have 5 women gracing our list of Worst Dressed on the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. While these women are undoubtedly talented, their efforts on the red carpet this year were definitely not award-worthy.
The five women securing spots on our worst dressed list include Mandy Moore, Jennifer Hudson, Marisa Tomei, Florence Welch and Scarlett Johansson. I’m sure I’ll get scolded in the comments area for choosing some of these women as nominees for Worst Dressed but I’ll tell you why I think each of them deserve be here.
Mandy Moore looks too stiff in that dress – it looks like she can’t move her arms comfortably which doesn’t equal sexy in my book. Jennifer Hudson looks too desperate for attention in this skin tight bright orange gown that looks more suitable for a high school prom than the Oscars. Marisa Tomei looks like she’s trying to be 20 years younger. Florence Welch looks washed out in this off-white number that looks like a wedding dress that had been packed away for 20 years and brought out of the closet for this special occasion. And finally, Scarlett Johansson looks like she’s trying too hard to send the message that she doesn’t care. The messy locks may be appropriate for the People’s Choice Awards but not the most prestigious event of the year.

The only person I maybe agree with being on this list is Florence Welsh. All of the other ladies look gorgeous and why shouldn’t Jennifer try too hard to flaunt her hot body? If I had lost 50 pounds I would want people to see how damn hawt I was too!
Totally agree, this article is fully stupid. Yes, the only one who could have had a second thought before choosing her dress is Florence Welsh.
Uh…WHO is Florence Welsh? She obviously thought she was the belle of the ball. Oh my… She should have NEVER tried to get a second use out of that old prom dress.
The others weren’t so bad… But while Scarlett Johansson looked wow-ing from the neck down, the rest of her looked like she just rolled out of bed and couldn’t find a hairbrush. (At least she didn’t show up in curlers…)
anyone who knows anything about popular culture/music would know that Florence is all about ‘vintage’. And not only that, but she is the epitome of doing your own thing rather than the norm. Just because she isn’t wearing a typical and boring dress or packing on the make-up doesn’t mean she doesn’t look hot, because she looked amazing.
I really don’t agree. Florence is everywhere?! How could you not know her? :/ and as said before, she loves vintage stuff, so that goes perfectly with her. Scarlett Johansson looks the worst though:/
Kate Blanchett’s dress was the worst. It looked like a tabletopper stuck to the front of her dress.
