American Idol has announced the top 24 contestants of the season and the field is about to get even smaller tomorrow night. Tomorrow will reveal the first elimination of the season but two ladies we’re sure won’t be in the bottom group are Lauren Alaina and Naima Adedapo.
Naima burst onto the scene after her audition in Milwaukee (she’s actually from Chicago) and has a young daughter who, she claims, is her driving force in the competition. Seems like her daughter is steering her in the right direction because Naima wowed the judges and amazed audiences and viewers tonight when she took the stage to sing George Gershwin’s Summertime.
Lauren Alaina won over the judges when she auditioned in Nashville. Her cousin/best friend Holly was diagnosed with a brain tumor and Lauren began singing to help raise money for her hospital bills. Steven Tyler took a particular liking to Lauren right from the beginning. The perfect combination of talent and drive, Lauren seems as though she has all the elements to become the next American Idol.
After the girls’ performances tonight, we have to ask: Naima Adedapo vs. Lauren Alaina – who will go further this season on American Idol?
