Emily Maynard Bachelor 2011 Controversy: Is She Lying About Dead Fiance?
Emily Maynard plays the part of the sweet Southern belle on the 2011 edition of ABC’s the Bachelor. And I say “plays the part of” because apparently, Emily is doing just that – acting.
According to a new report from In Touch Magazine, Emily has been lying about her engagement to Ricky Hendrick (who died in a plane crash in 2004). In Touch interviewed Cori Kurek – a woman who claims she was engaged to Ricky from 2002-2003.
Cori tells In Touch “After Ricky died and she found out she was pregnant, Emily wanted to have lunch with me, because she didn’t know him that well. I’m amazed at the details Emily excludes about her background.”
Cori says that Emily has been very misleading during her time on the show and other sources who know Emily seem to think the same.
“I think it was a staged, fake engagement,” says another one of In Touch’s sources referring to how Ricky’s parents handled Emily’s pregnancy after their son died.
So is Emily lying or is everyone else telling tales about Emily’s life outside of the Bachelor?
While I personally find Emily to be very fake (both in her looks and in her personality – I mean anyone who feels the need to say their genuine 5 times and episode is clearly trying too hard to convince themselves and everyone else that it’s true) there is one big reason why I don’t believe Cori is telling the truth.
Here’s why I’m not buying Cori’s story:
In the interview, Cori tells In Touch “Ricky and I were together for a very long time and as far as I know, there was never any Emily in his life.”
Basically, Cori wants everyone to believe that Emily never had a long-term relationship with Ricky. What makes me believe that’s not at all true is this photo slideshow featuring countless photos of Ricky and Emily together over the course, what appears to be, many years.
In some of the photos Emily looks younger, some of them she looks slightly more grown up which leads me to think that this Cori girl is out for a little bit of publicity through a lot of lies (there’s no way there are this many photos of a couple if they weren’t legitimately together – there’s no way).
Sure, Emily might try too hard to prove she’s the epitome of a Southern belle but I honestly don’t believe she’s lying about her relationship with Ricky.
Take a look at the slideshow of Emily Maynard and Ricky Hendrick and let us know if you think Emily is lying about her relationship with him.
