We all know Russell Brand is a little out there.. but a secret obsession with dead animals? Now that’s something!
Radaronline.com exclusively interviewed Neil Strauss, author of the upcoming book Everyone Loves You When You Are Dead and asked him about his time interviewing Russell Brand.
Some of the excerpts of the interview were a little shocking. In the interview, Brand admitted to being consumed with dead animals and death. He made this obsession part of his comedy act – showing his audience dead rats, chickens, and birds.
“And I’d smash them up with a hammer and then throw them into the audience and go, ‘Why are you disgusted? I’ve just rearranged their atoms. They’re dead already. Nothing’s happened. You’re being shocked by nothing.’
Brand was clearly on drugs during this time and had this to say about his addiction:
“I was addicted to crack and heroin at that time and was…I’ve always had some destructive tendencies and I was unstable. I had no off switch. I was unable to manage it. Up until then I’d never had money in my life and as soon as people gave me money, I just hit the f**k it button and blew up.”
Brand later admits to Strauss that his life changed when he met and married Katy Perry.
