Are you asking yourself who got voted off American Idol this week? Well, if you don’t know the results of the voting, you might be shocked to find out who’s no longer in the competition. Pia Toscano, the beautiful and talented brunette who sang her way into the hearts of people all over the world has officially been eliminated from the show.
Everyone was shocked to hear the news since Pia was a clear front-runner the past few weeks. She had the voice of angel but couldn’t seem to secure a fan base quite as easily as some of the other contestants this season.
Pia Toscano may not be your American Idol 2011 but something tells me this isn’t the last we’ll see of her. Remember, some of the most successful American Idol contestants are those who never made it to the finals (like my favorite Ms. Kellie Pickler!).

This is absolutely freaking ridiculous. Pia deserves to have won the whole competition. I cant believe this. We have only ourselves to blame. She went home because everyone thought she woukd breeze right through the competition, and no one voted for her becauae no one expected PIA TO GO HOME. I am so upset, I dont think I am even going to watch american idol. This is freaking painful. All I can hope is that j lo, randy, and steven get Pia a record deal. I think she is the best singer they have everrrrr had. Ridiculous. I’m sooooo mad.
Wow! Steffano should have been the one to go! This is shocking. I know Pia was a little drab…and boring. But let’s face it people! The girl can sing. I thought for sure it should have been Steffano. You could see the anger in the judges faces. All you people who are so mad you are saying “I’m never watching the show again” are stupid. It’s Americas fault…NOT Am. Idol’s. This is a joke. The shock factor is one if the great parts of the show…and THIS was shocking! I think they need to re-count those votes. Although I have voted for Lauren this whole time…I think this was the case; Pia was SO good, everyone thought “ah, I’m not going to vote for her, everyone probably is” well…that just goes to show like Ryan said “Make sure you vote!”
She will end up with some type of contract. I can see how this happens. Most of the votes are by women. And all those guys in the bars that Mr. Tyler talked about don’t vote. Don’t worry, we will see a lot more of Pia.

Sorry, Pia was great, but what sucked was her song choice, she bored me most of the time due to the song selection. Sing ballards after you launch your career, but give the people what they what to hear. Song choice is what its all about. I’m not saying she deserved to go home, Jacob is just as dull, although another good singer. I would’ve liked to have seen him leave tonight, if anyone had to.

We need Simon back. At least he gave some critiques even though they were fairly brutal. At least everyone wouldn’t be told “you rock” or “you nailed it”. It’s hard to believe that anyone even is in the same league as Pia, let alone 8 people being considered to be better than her!!! I haven’t been as surprised since George Bush was re-elected!!!!!

I thought Pia was the most techinically gifted singer on the show, possibly ever on the show. She probably shouldn’t have gone before Stefano but the bottom line is that she didn’t move me as a performer. Just another Celine wannabe without the stage presence.

How upsetting this was. She is one of the best singers on the show. They Judges saved someone too soon. They should have waited a little later. I now have lost interest in watching the show. I had voted for her many times, but unfortunately people feel she should go through and didn’t vote for her. My best to her as she will have a career in singing more so then the other contestants left on the show.
I believe we have not seen the end of PIA.. Year after year we have seen other idol contestants with contracts and doing much better than the winner. It was truely ashame. Off the tivo it goes.

She should have been in the final. The top 9 are all great & we can take heart in the fact that we will see her on tour. But I was looking forward to seeing her for Many more weeks…like watching Adam Lambert make it all the way to the end. I was totally shocked!!! PIA is the best singer by far! She gave me goose bumps when she sang. She is the next Star by Far! I pray that she makes it big because she deserves it! By far she was the best this year!

Pia was absolutely the most talented. Ryan places the blame for people being sent home on the viewers and voters—what about the judges who don’t really say make any comments that helps voters know who’s really great.

I am really disappointed about Pia being voted off so early in the contest. With a voting system that allows 12-year-old girls to text countless votes for thinly talented boys no wonder the best talent can’t win American Idol. I see no reason to watch Idol anymore, until they change the voting.
I can’t believe that America voted for Pia Toscano to go home. America is seriously wrong!!! Pia should have won this show, I also hope that she goes on making music in the music business and sells records better than any star on that stage–we all know who the real winner is!!! This makes me sick and futhermore it makes me not even want to watch the show anymore. Paul can’t sing any note right, and he should have gone home tonight. I think this is not a singing contest, it is a popularity contest and based on their looks, which is really sad. That’s not the way is should be and Pia leaving tonight was a huge shock to many, many people. This is terribly sad, and I hope for a very bright future for Pia Toscano.

She was incredibly boring….she has a beautiful voice but it’s so one dimensional. She has no stage presence, and was a terrible performer. She was so awkward….If it was a contest strictly on voice she would win, but idol is the best performer….

I tried to vote for her several times last night, but was having difficulty getting the calls to go through. I had to keep hanging up and calling again. The line was either busy or was never completed. Did any one else have the same problems? I could vote 5 times for another contestant to her 1.
I think Pia is a wonderful singer and that it was just wrong for her to be voted off. I DO think that the voting is problematical and more adults need to vote, especially knowing how many kids will vote popularly rather than based on the technical ability of a singer. Why is this the end? Why is there no recourse when the judges truly believe a mistake has been made…they saved Casey for the same reason they would have saved Pia this week if they could…because America was wrong and if this is truly about singing than Pia, by God, should still be on this show.

Really? I though the whole point of being AMERICAN IDOL was to have the whole package. She has no stage presence. Angela Bassett did a better Tina Turner than Pia. She either stands or for her “Up tempo” she walked around the stage. Don’t do Tina Turner if you can’t be stronger than Tina. Would you really pay to see her stand for 2-3 hours while she sings some tunes? She is boring. And AMERICA did let their voices be heard. The judges shouldn’t have a right to decide something different after the vote comes in. No matter what order they go in, they still get their pay day and the point is to get to the best.

You people are crazy!?!?! She DEFINITELY deserved to go. Yes this is a singing competition but it also involves likeability and being marketable. She had the personality of a stick. There has already been a Mariah, a Celine, a Whitney and the fact they compare her to them is bogus. Anyone who knows anything about singing knows that her vocal range is NO WHERE CLOSE to them and she does not have the attitude or control over her voice like the previous mentioned did. Paul has AMAZING personality and a likeabilty factor plus he is extremely marketable. Just like Coldplay, all he needs is a good band. Jacob is a present day Luther. Hayle has her niche, stefano has his “ne-yo”, Casey has his different style, Country dude is well… country, Jacob is baby luther and very one of the strongest vocally as well as rock kid who are both by far the most talented vocally….. and PIA had “hey i can sing ballads” which no one is interested in and wont sell any albums. So quit whining, the save was used perfectly, and the right person went home. She had maybe an octave and a half range, James and Jacob have like 5 octave range….. my sisters dog’s bark is more interesting than Pia’s and he has more personality!!!

This had to have been an error with the telephone system, because there is no way on God’s green earth; that Howdy Doody (Scott) is even qualified to be on the same stage with Pia. It is hard to believe that America could not see that this is one of the most exceptional singers that have ever graced the stage. It has been my thought that this whole competition, up till now, had already been decided. As far as vocal ability, Pia will be your next mega super star.

I don’t think this has anything to do with the judges using their save too early…she shouldn’t have been put in a position ever to have to be saved! America messed this one up and no one else. Little girls have ruined AI. They just vote for the boy they have the biggest crush on. It doesn’t matter to them if their singing is just fair. Also, I think some girls were jealous of Pia’s beauty and talent. It’s a shame girls have to be like that.

Jennifer Hudson left idol fairly early and look at her career. Pia is so talented. We will see more from her.

Pia has a wonderful voice and she’s certainly beautiful, but she has absolutely NO stage presence. There’s no personality behind the big voice and she’s extremely stiff onstage. She belted out a great song last night but JLo was right when she tried to tell Pia that her movements were not matching the music.

My husband and I could not believe what was happening before our eyes. I thought it was a joke….I truly thought Stefano was going to go. The judges should have NEVER used the save so early. I knew something like this would probably happen. Pia is so beautiful, it seems, on the inside and out. She had a beautiful singing voice and was sooo willing to continue growing and working on everything the judges and other music professionals told her. It’s an absolute shame that America got this wrong!!! She was the complete package. I’m so disappointed and after devoting 10 years to the show, I’m seriously considering throwing in the towel. Sean got it right. No doubt Pia can sing, but the judges kept saying turn the performance on or it’s going to catch up to you and it did. I agree that Casey should have gone and the save was used way to early. This year everything is “beautiful”. Where’s Simon when you need a “great singing but the performance was horrible.” Melinda Doolittle could sing the phone book and she got voted off too and has had minimal success since. That’s Idol.

Voting in A.I. is subjective. What’s a good singer for some may not appeal to others. It doesn’t mean that if singer X is better in terms of physical looks and/or higher vocal range he/she necessarily has to win. I think Pia appeared as a “cliche” for most voters. The current voters in A.I. might be looking for someone more free spirited or unexpected. People get easily bored with what is predictable – hence, Pia got the lowest votes. There is no right or wrong in AI voting, it’s only “like” or “don’t like” and the majority rule. People who were disappointed with Pia’s vote off are obviously fans and they should realize that their idol was not the favorite, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been eliminated.
I don’t know if Pia should have won or not because there’s so many talented singers this year. However, I am completely shocked that America prefers Haley Reinhart over Pia. Fer Crissakes! Haley growls and trawls the stage like an 8 year old girl’s misconception of what a sexy woman does. Looking at everyone’s faces as Pia’s name was announced showed that the judges and contestants knew what the talent pecking order was and were shocked to find that success doesn’t necessarily depend on degree of talent.
Wife and I will no longer waste our time watching a show that just let their best talent go. Way to lose.
Pia Toscano was clearly the “BEST” and most beautiful Talent that ever graced the American Idol stage. I blame Jennifer Lopez for constantly overly criticizing her for not being a “dancer” and stating that she needs to do more! What more? She was perfect!! She had excellent range, depth, composure and raw talent. The last time that I checked, American Idol is a singing competition and not a dancing competition. Although Pia sang perfectly week after week, Jennifer always managed to have something negative to say or to give her a back handed compliment. I blame Jennifer and Randy for constantly comparing her to Celine, Mariah and Whitney Houston, who can no longer hold a note. I sincerely believe the constant criticism by Jennifer, wanting more and more from Pia, caused voters to be overly critical of her unnecessarily. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT ABOUT PIA TOSCANO: HER LOOKS, HER VOICE, AND HER PERSONALITY. SHE WAS CLEARLY THE BEST. I CAN ONLY PRAY SHE LANDS THE BEST RECORD DEAL EVER. “CLIVE DAVIS” SHOULD BE CALLING HER SOON.

Having such talent eliminated so soon is bad for AI and bad for America; the rest of the season will be bleak without her! AI producers need to revisit/revise its *save* rules and let the judges override such lunacy more frequently…something needs to happen anyway, but not what’s we’re getting!!
The problem is simple, America can’t just vote for thier favorite or this will continue to happen. “Why?” you ask. Because America should vote for the worst, and whomever has the most votes should go home! We may all have different favorites but the majority all agree who should be on the bottom. This way the best can stay and America only has to vote for 1. Problem solved. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this???

All these comments like “i am never watching the show again, blah, blah, blah” Let’s get it straight, PIA was eliminated by the people who vote, or in this case people that didn’t. The judges loved her, i loved her and apparently so did all of the people on the site, but honesty did you vote for her? I did, but like so many they figured she was safe and didn’t bother. Before you complain about the show or judges and post a stupid comment, ask yourself did AI let Pia down or did I?

Yes it sucks. She is an amazing singer and she got jipped. I voted for her many times and it’s not fair, but crap happens when you have this many people voting. Most all of the contestants on American Idol this year have been really good. The top 13 were all very good in their own way. The ones remaining are very good too and deserve to be watched. But yea, Pia should have been there till the end. Makes me sick, sick, sick. I will miss her. We could all not watch idol because we’re pissed, but what would that accomplish. We are the ones that were suppose to vote. It is a very good show and it does help singers get noticed regardless if they win or not. The fact that Pia did not receive a sufficient number of votes to remain on is quite surprising. I do wonder if there might have been some sort of error in the voting mechanism on Wednesday night. It is possible.
While Pia was not my personal favorite, I believe the judges should have used their save for her. Casey is talented but not the WOW singer that Pia is; she’s got something truely special and now she’s gone too soon. I thought she would be in the top 3.

Do you guys really think Kris Allen had a greater “stage presence” than Adam Lambert? Or Taylor Hicks over Daughtry? I had the expectation till the very end that the judges might pull out another safe and let Pia continue. I mean , i kind of had the feeling that Pia mite be in the bottom 3 coz her last performance was slashed by JLO a lil, but couldnt even dream of her getting eliminated. AI is not about “voting someone off”, it is about making sure you: vote for someone you want to STAY! We all have ourselves to blame for thinking Pia was a shoe-in and not voting for her to stay in the competition. The judges should have saved their “save card” for such a situation that happened last night.

It is so gender based because majority of voters are definitely woman and young girls who vote for the guys. They base it on looks for the most part. I do think James deserves to be there hands down, but others definitely could have went before Pia. I do not think it will end for her because out of them all she has the whole package and will go far. She seems to be the type that wouldn’t take no for an answer and continue her dreams. I do not believe this is a true singing competition. All of the contestants have talent this year, some more than others. This is popularity du jour. Judges with experience and training should be making the decision, not viewers who merely pick up a phone. This is a TV show; it is not a test of true talent. I won’t be watching again.

I blame the judges. They were too weak-willed to save their one and only “save” for when a real shocker would hit and it was obviously needed. Anyone who has ever watched a full season knows there will be at least one shocker and THAT was why they added the “save” feature. NOT to save an average singer like Casey who even admits himself he did not feel he was entitled to the save.
I blame the weak willed Jennifer Lopez who has a pathetic crush on Casey and needs to be more objective. Steven Tyler is too weak to say no, and Randy fell victim to the peer pressure.

I think Pia is very talented and beautiful but like several people stated, she didn’t have much personality and lacked stage presence. It just got old after awhile. The entire package requires more; talent, personality, stage presence, connecting with the audience, and just being an overall great entertainer.

First of all, Paul has the least talent of all of them. The others are very good. This is a singing competition and Pia is the best singer. She should not have been thrown off at all. Yes she needs a little help in the performance end, but it doesn’t take much to teach someone like her to dance and move better on stage. This is insane. She is the idol package. All she needed was a little guidence and she will become a great star. Truly, truly a mistake was made last night. You know she will definitely get picked up by someone. I have been on a number of sites reading viewers, comments and have noticed that all of the negative comments are written by females. No doubt young teeny boppers who are jealous of Pia’s talent and beauty. I think the problem with the judges is Jealous Jennifer who feels threatened by a younger, more beautiful brunette singer. Scotty is boring! He is so awkward to watch on stage. Hayley screeches and is unattractive to watch. Stefano sounds like a karaoke singer. These 3 are way worse than Pia.

Pia did not have a personality that viewers/voters warmed up to … she sang beautifully and her confidence was off putting … it also didn’t help that she promised for two weeks to speed things up (and twice sang ballads anyway) … so viewers/voters felt lied to … and when she did speed things up it just wasn’t that good … whether she hit all the notes or not

Pia got voted off because she was boring and lacked stage presence. She barely moved up there, and you all know this. She did not have the whole package. When America watches A.I., that is what they are looking for. They want to see it all. I know that is what I’m interested in. Yes, she was sweet, humble and beautiful, but she needed to really step it up with her dancing. I was waiting for her to really wow me. The “shock and aw” factor really draws my attention as a viewer. She was too predictable, and predictable is dreary. If she would have listened to what Jennifer kept encouraging her to do, she would have ended up in the top 4. Look at Jennifer. She can’t sing that great, but she is a hell of a dancer and performer! She kills it on stage! That is what people are drawn to. That is why she made it so big in the music industry. All you performers out there know exactly what I’m talking about.
Pia is an excellent singer and nobody can deny that. Although the entertainment value she brought to the stage was weak. It may be a singing competition, but you have to be aware of the current music industry. A voice doesn’t make an artist, and the public, young or old, is easily bored. When I would watch the show (I do not watch religiously every week because that would be obsessive and mean I do not have a life) I would wish I could fast forward through hers, simply because her song choices are not what the general public usually listens to. If you want to get into the business and actually have a long lasting career, get off your lazy butt and go to agencies, instead of wasting your time trying to win American idol, because the overall winner is never the most successful. Most of the time the winner is forgotten and those who placed 2nd 3rd and so on have a greater chance of being noticed. What has Taylor hicks or Kris Allen done since their wins, had one hit make it to the charts and have a few idol fans buy their hastily made cd that is full of songs that were written for them, not by them. Only one of those songs good enough to make a low budget video that comes in at number twenty on the countdown for a few weeks and then disappears. There are a few former idols that have made it big, but that’s because they could be fit into the box that the industry wants them to be in. And yes, that means that most of your favorites from idol, especially those who are clones of current stars, will have difficulty breaking into the industry and have been misleaded by this show that they are super stars already. I think that all those remaining on the show deserve to be there, but could also do better than American idol. Oh, and to those who sit here complaining about pia getting kicked off, get over it. For all you know she is a horrible person who was good at being fake. You never know a persons true personality inless you actually know them. She didn’t fit with the rest of the cast, and wasn’t up to par with her performance. So reality check to you obsessive, crazy human beings, her being kicked off, thats just how the cookie crumbles.

Why does she deserve a revote above anyone else? No one is destined to win American idol, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that it’s rigged, but her going home is just the result of the public liking other contesants better. This is the first season I have watched Idol. Not a good track record so far! I am disgusted that Pia was sent home!!!! The judges should have let Casey go home when he was supposed to!! He wasn’t good enough to save! I thought Pia was going to win the whole thing! She deserved to!! People have complained that the judges didn’t critique her enough. What was there to critique, and the one area where she did lack because of shyness they did tell her about it! She is amazing like Celine Dion! Hopefully a smart person will see that and give her a deal!

I am simply shocked- Pia should be in the Top 3 – The judges should not have used the wild card- big mistake!!! Stefano should go – he sounds just like any other singer (mediocal), nothing special about him. I was upset when Adam Lambert lost too, America vote with your head not heart!
Quit blaming America not everyone voted wrong, the problem is the voting is run by teeny boppers who vote over and over. Not to mention alot of people said they were having trouble getting through to vote for Pia. ewe don’t know what happened we were not there. However something is not right, and Pia got sent home. They need to re vote. If &merica got it wrong than why is America upset over it. Think about it. If they don’t do something to fix this I’m not watching show the rest of season. I already know James will win cause every one wants to see Steven Tyler perform. By the way parents are you watching your 12 year olds voting or are you letting them vote how they want. They need to be taught responsible voting. In the long run it’s not cute or funny.
Casey deserved the save, but Pia deserves it more. I’m sure if the judges knew it would come to this, they would have saved the save.

America messed up on this one – this woman can fly above every note and land exactly on pitch. You can’t teach that – you can teach someone how to shake their a.. which is clearly what America wants – Shame on us!!!
I agree that Pia was a great singer, but she was boring to watch. I record the shows and everytime she came on I would watch her for 10 seconds, get bored then fast forward to the next singer! I loooove her voice but she needs to work on her stage performance. Someone will work with her and we’ll see her again I’m sure!
I am very mad about the elimination of Pia.I’m sure she has got a very good future ahead of her.Steven Tylor said that she will probably do better then the winner of American Idol.I tend to agree and wish Pia the very best.This year has got the best talent of any year in my estimation.I do think Pia belongs ahead of some that are still there!
Eliminating Pia is the biggest mistake I have seen in any of the previous American Idol competitions. This is an outrage and a sad commentary on the voting public who allowed this to happen. Pia should have been the one saved but she will not be forgatten by the fans, I am sure. She has a bright and beautiful future, just as beautiful as she is.
I agree with Jenna when she said to Jennifer,”watch your reaction that the whole world saw. Steffano is a good singer & you made him feel like a big zero.” I and many other Americans voted for Steffano because we felt he was much more talented. He has a great voice quality and lots of natural stage presence. He reminds me so much of Bobby Riedell & Paul Anka. The judges need to remember that not everyone voting is going to like the same type of music or their taste in music; and they shouldn’t make the person that was saved by America’s votes feel bad, with their ranting & raving about America voting wrong.
I think this was the worst vote from America ever on American Idol. It was either her or James. That was the top two. America has to stop voting for people that have been in the bottom three forever cuz they feel sorry for them. You vote for who you think is best not for whos shitty and needs a little help. I have heard that Pia got a record deal anyways. She doesnt need American Idol. Shes already set. Pia is gonna be big, no matter what the outcome of thursday was.
It is unfortuanate that Pia was voted off. She has a great voice and is a beautiful talented young lady. However, in my opinion, her performance skills to illustrate her originality and personalty are not completely there and this plays a very important part to her total performance as a singer and as it would any other singer.
My opinion is only intended to be constructive. As you may know, to be an American Idol you need to have more than a great voice. They want the whole package.
Let’s move forward and Vote. I read many comments from people that expressed they will not vote anymore. Don’t have this outlook. Keep your faith for the other contestants.
So much going on in the week before they perform that they forget about the CRITICAL factor for votes (what would the public enjoy as a song choice and performance?). Too bad SHE DIDN’T LISTEN to Jennifer and mix it up a bit. I hope she is not in denial about that.

I would vote, I truly would vote one time if I thought my vote would count. Unfortunately, American Idols voting system is extremely faulty. I simply cannot compete with a 13 yr old who is able to send 60 text message votes in 1 minute for 2 or 4 hours straight! It seems my vote is miniscule to say the least. Until they change their voting system to only allow one vote per phone number, per email address, NO ONE SHOULD VOTE!
I think that she was a great singer, but she was a boring performer.. Sorry I don’t want anyone to get offended, but she kept singing ballads, and her attitude to me when she met stars or when the judges were speaking to her came across to me like she thought she was the best they ever saw. I also think America realised her game play, to keep saying if I’m here next week I’ll rock the stage when asked to do up-tempo, then she would do another ballad. So last week she did up-tempo and saw what she knew, she cannot perform, she is only comfortable standing still well belting out notes. Lauren on the other hand can belt it, but she can move and you feel her love and passion for music. Sorry Pia will have a record deal, but she needs help to learn how to perform, or she won’t sell out any shows. Again,she has a great voice, but I was sick of her long notes after the second week. She got boring sorry.
