Kobe Bryant Homophobic Slur Sparks Controversy (Watch)!

The Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is sparking media attention today after it appears he was caught on tape mouthing a homophobic slur during last night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

You can’t hear Bryant say the words but, when the cameras were placed on him after he was nailed for his fourth foul of the game, it appears as though the Lakers star says “F-cking F-ggot.”

Although the slur wasn’t perfectly clear, it was clear enough that the one of the announcers said “You might wanna take the camera off him now for the children watching.”

Homophobic slurs are inexcusable regardless of the situation but especially in an environment when you know children who look up to you are watching at home..

So unacceptable.

Hopefully this isn’t the type of attitude Kobe instills in his daughters.

Did Kobe take it too far with his alleged homophobic slur during last night’s game? I sure think so!

  1. He clearly said F*git. Who cares? I have 2 gay cousins and I’m friends with a few lesbian women. I use F*git as an angry expression all the time. If any GAY rights activists do something, they’ll just make themselves look like bigger pussies. Gay or not, that’d be a f*git @$$ thing to do.

  2. Looks like he basically said it to himself, he didn’t yell it at the ref. You have to read his lips & guess at what he is saying….Give me a freakin break!!! Gays & Lesbians impose/flaunt their lifestyle on others, SHUT UP & learn to live with it just like you expect all others to live with your choice/beliefs!!

  3. oh get over it. playoffs are almost here, the Lakers had just lost five in a row. Kobe was angry and frustrated about the call the ref made. everyone in the NBA has a moment where they say something bad because of frustration. the gay rights whatever should calm down and leave the man alone. ofcourse he didnt mean it. it was just the mood he was feeling. im sure everyone says or does something in their life that the dont mean! i dont understand why its such a big deal!!!

  4. representative of the strong says:

First off, this is blown out of proportion. He or she who has made a very bad comment out of frustration please cast the first stone. Homophobic, racist, or derogatory comments are wrong and mean and should not be used. Last time I checked human beings are not perfect. The very people who are offended do the same thing with different words. Such as calling straight men “breeders” or those who say all blondes are dumb. This is a ploy for attention for some group somewhere and this man is paying a price for a “crime that all have committed speaking on this topic or another. So leave him alone, donate his fine to a gay rights group and move on
this man is not a hater of anyone.
    Go Celtics

  5. Kobe should know that young children look up to him as their role model. What Kobe did was unappropriate and I feel like the consequence should have been more than it was. He should have been suspended a game or two. Angry or not, is was completely wrong!!
