On Thursday, fans were shocked to find out that their two favorite soap operas One Life to Life and All my Children were cancelled.
We wrote about the cancellation when it happened, Susan Lucci & Kelly Ripa’s thoughts about the cancellation and now we’re writing about how YOU can let ABC know your thoughts about the cancellation!

I too am very sad that ABC is canceling these two shows. I grew up watching them. AMC has great story lines. I will miss it so very much. Bring them back please.
I am so upset I can’t even express in words how much….. I thought that One Life to Live was gonna be kept on the aire… now I hear it is cancelled too…. I am thinking very serious about not watching ABC programming again… I am sure alot of others feel the same way…
These shows have been on most of my life.. I am 54 years old and I have watched them from the beginning.. We have enough cooking, reality shows… enough is enough!
I agree with all. I am 38 yrs old I can’t remember a time these soaps were not on. I can’t belive we are giving up tradition to join talk shows… Wow…. I also agree with Debbie when she said we have enough cooking, & reality shows…. I am sick of opera, Rachel ray and Yes the Chew… If I wanted to watch those I would watch them….. You can have tooo much of one thing…. Bring back All My Children… And leave One life to life alone….. I want Roxy…..

I agree with everyone who says we have too many cooking and talk shows–OLTL has been a part of my life since I can remember(over 30 yrs) My heart is truly broken and I am actually grieving over the loss of an hr a day that when I could sit and zone out with my OLTL “friends”. I don’t know whop else out there feels this strongly but I am still sick over it and it’s been almost a month. I have even shed some tears–that may sound ridiculous but my disappointment and helplessness sometimes get the better of me over the whole thing. ABC made a huge mistake. I won’t watch your freaking Revolution or chew or any other crap.
I’m so outraged at the idiotic decision ABC made to cancel these shows. They both are American icons. I don’t need to see another talk show or cooking show. There are far too many of them to choose from as it is. If I want to watch I can look at cable, but I certainly not going to look at any of these over the Soaps and certainly not on ABC. Who needs another talk show or cooking show. There is only 1 All My Children and only One Life to Live. Cancelling these shows was the most ridiculous thing that ABC has done. So what if it costs more to produce. They are worth keeping. You’re not going to have many people watching “The Chew” or the other show “The Revolution” that would last for 40 years – let alone 1 at this rate. Please don’t cancel these shows- they are American icons and you will be doing yourself a great disservice. Who ever you polled, you polled the wrong people. This would be a travesty!
I am very upset that AMC is being cancelled! Another cooking/fashion show- really!!! I will not watch the new shows! Moving to L.A. from New York started all this. Big mistake!
AMC is the only soap I watch (it’s the only one worth watching) and I have watched it for the full 41yrs, taping it and watghing it w/o comercials…..this saddens me very much:~{ I will be soap free after this, no other will fill it’s place.
I have been a soap fan for over 30 years. I watch All MY Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. I DVR these shows and I’m very upset that they are being taken off the air. There are so many fans like me that watch these shows everyday and look forward to it.
I am so pissed. I have been watching One Life to Live since it first aired. I will never watch a stupid food or health show. I guess General Hospital is next! If you cancel GH I will never watch anything on your network again. There’s too many other channels to choose from. I’m sure I can find a quality program on some other network rather than watch a network who disregards my interests to save a few production costs. You have grossly underestimated the fan base for One Life to Live and All My Children!
I can not believe ABC is doing this! I have to say I am totally shocked and outraged! Why would you do this? I have watched these shows for over 35 years and can’t imagine ABC Daytime without them! I will NOT watch these new shows you’ve put in place of them. I’m tired of having these cooking shows and health shows shoved down my throat! I know what to eat and how to live! Dear ABC,
I stopped watching All My Children about thirteen years ago, after Bianca came out of Closet and admitted she was Gay. And the rest of the Soap Opera went downhill from there and the Soap Opera got a real weird story line. That I thought was real creepy. No wonder Susan Lucci only won one award for Day time Television. I heard that she was quite difficult to work with.
As for One Live to Live I stopped watching that soap opera because the story line also got really weird. And they never killed Todd out the story.
And did not move on from that.
I just really hope that General Hospital is not next. The writers of General Hospital should get an Award from best Soap Opera Writers. It is never a Dull moment and always filled with suspense. The Actors on the Soap Opera are really a gifted class of people.
I just know that from All my Children and One Life to Live a lot people will be out of work with this terrible economy. Otherwise, the ratings must have been really low!

I love that show it never get old you are underestimating the fan base I’ve been watching one life to live for several of years its so sad that you would do this to the fans. As bad as everything is with the world how can you think about getting rid of something that gives people hopes and dreams. Yes I know its not real but they do help with real live issues. Like with bulling in schools,teenage pregancy,cancer ect… Sometimes its nice to be able to forget how broke you are and dream.Why fix something thats not broke. Soaps have been around longer than most of us and should be around forever.bring them back on or we will just have to stop watching your tv station. the ball is in your court.

What idiot at ABC decided to cancel AMC? And to replace it with another talk/lifestyle show,which we will NEVER watch. Give us a break. ABC will be boycotted. We will never watch anything again on ABC. How about some other network or cable channel picking it up. You will gain MANY fans by doing so.
I’ve watched A.M.C sence day one, love the show, only soap i ever watched. My granddaughter came to live with me in her high school years HOOKED,watches still today.Cancelling A.M.C. is the most rediculous thing ABC can do. I thought this was a joke when I saw it on Facebook; unfortunately it’s true. I will permanently ban ABC and all of their sponsors if they cancel these shows especially for two more stupid reality/talk shows (none of which have ever held my interest on any network to be honest). I have been watching both of these soaps for 37 years and I know I’m just one of many long time dedicated viewers (can you say that about any other show on any network)? Why would you take shows that have been watched for decades by millions of viewers and throw them out like garbage? Brian Frons has no idea what the viewers want. All of the networks are overkill on reality shows; who exactly did they poll because I certainly never saw anything? I personally look forward every day to watching my DVR recorded shows (yes I’m a professional that works full time; guess we are not as important as young stay at home mothers. This is stupidity personified. Quit trying to be cutting edge and just give the viewers what they want to watch and not what you think we want to watch.

Canceling Abc soup is a big mistake. I love One life to live and All my children. I’ve been watching them over the past 25 years. Abc please reconsider your decisions.

I enjoyed them, they have helped me deal with day-to-day problems by taking me to a different world. But these shows over the years has also tackled the social issues and problems. They’ve also brought to us quite a few excellent actors. There is no way in hell I am going to watch some ridiculous new talk shows. The current attraction of reality tv is wearing thin: these reality shows get boring after a while, and by now most of us know that they are fake. But soap operas feature new stories, writing. ABC – please reconsider.
My late wife got me hooked on AMC back in 1984,she passed in 2006. To this day I still record the show and watch in the evening. I’m done with ABC for pulling this stunt.

Please reconsider the decision to cancel OLTL. Its one of my favorite shows and I have been watching for many years. Foolish to think people no longer are interested in soaps. We LOVE them.
There people I know your guys are upset but it cost the networks $50 Million dollars a year to producs these shows. Ratings have gone down so if abc would continue to produce these shows would mean they would go bankrupt.
So if you want the shows to stay on there are to things you can do?
- Tell abc your willing to pay 50$ a year to see your show
-If you want it to be free make sure evryone you know is watching it so the ratings will go up.
Do you work for ABC? If these soaps are cancelled ABC will lose enough viewers to bankrupt them. We, the viewers, will watch cable not ABC. I have been watching both One Life to Live and All My Children since they first began. I DVR them so I can watch them after work. Trust me, I will not be setting the DVR for a food show or a talk show. I lookk forward to watching them at the end of my day. I really wish you would reconsider taking them off the air. I can’t believe ABC is taking off 2 of my favorite soaps All My Children I’ve been watching for 35 years and OLTL for 25 years! ABC you need to take the soap out of your eyes and clean up your act. All the actors have been wonderful and deserve a lot of praise! ABC’s 2 new shows will not last very long so keep our soaps going. I’m very dissapointed by the news as many others are too! 30 years of friendship with All My Children. Built my life around my fantasy and enjoyed every single minute of it. Recorded it just so I could savour it, still do. BUT NOW WHAT? I am devastated. I have been watching All My Children and One Life to Live ever since 2003 when I had a stroke. I have limited mobility so I watch the soaps for entertainment and to pass the time away. I have fallen in love with many of the characters. They are like real people to me, like family. I hate some of them too. I don’t know what I will do without these shows. I agree with everyone that we don’t need any more cooking shows or talk shows. ABC has made a huge mistake. We need to get back at them by boycotting their new programming or maybe even stop watching ABC all together. OK lets do it!!

I have been watching OLTL for the past 39 years when it was just 1/2 and our. I hope you don’t take this pleasue away from the dedicated fans.
I look forward after a long day at work to sit in the comfort of my home and watch One Life to Live.
I am very upset that ABC has cancelled AMC and OLTL. These are the only soaps I watch and have been doing so since the 1970′s. My mom and daughters watch these soaps and I have to record OLTL for my husband to view at night. Makes you wonder if ABC had issues with Agnes Nixon since they spared General Hospital. Come on ABC! Don’t further alienate your viewers!
I will never watch ABC daytime again if and when they take away All my Children. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning. Recorded it with VCR when I worked. Raised my sons watching it with me, now in their thirties.
There are cooking channels already, how stupid a decision made by ABC.
This is totally unbelievable………that the “big guy” can chop programs without any input from the thousands of people who have followed these shows since the beginning. I began watching this program (AMC) since the very first day. All of my 40 years of appointments, life planning, meals, etc., were planned before or after All My Children. They are my family, as a matter of fact, I have no other family. What in the hell is the matter with this guy????????Is he nuts??????????I think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do they plan to add to their network? Maybe another reality show, or more news, or more cooking shows. Those are shows they should take off the air. They are “fly by night shows” and will never make 40 years or more. More like 4 months…………with luck, or with a “relationship” with the man with the “chopping block”. At present time, there isn’t anything on any of the networks that I like to watch. As a matter of fact, the only time my TV is on is for the airing of AMC. All of the other shows are crappy, no story line, unknown people on them, not interesting enough to make me or thousands of other people want to watch them.
BAD DECISION, “BIG GUY” , keeping the soaps on the air would be the best decision you could make, and I speak for thousands of other people when I say, “Get a life, take other people into consideration, and leave our soaps alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
I have watched All My Children for 41 years, from day one every single day even when I was working, I am now retired and three years ago lost my younger thirty three year old son to Brain Cancer.
Through the worst times In the last 41 years of my life, the one thing I knew was always there for me was my Soap Opera. It hasbrought me through many bad times. I so look forward to watching eveyday. Please do not take it off. The last thing we need is another talk show or reality show. Thank you for listening to me.

Well it has been two months since the fatal blow was given to amc and oltl. I am just as angry and upset today as I was the day the announcement was made. I am still watching them and oltl is just getting better and better…..some days I try to imagine what it will be like without my soaps….what will I do during this 2 hour span…..certainly I will not be watching abc. unfortunally during the commercials I have searched around on the other channels …..nothing…..what to do, what to do, looks like the decision making people have not got a clue as to what the viewers really want to watch……typical from politics to t.v. watching……dumb assess running the show…..
If u take off oltl, I will not be looking at abc at this time,we don’t want any thing ,but our oltl at this time…this is one of the best soap’s on tv,this is no good for any one …this is our time to get away from real live,my daughter will not be looking at abc at this time,even my hubby has to have his oltl,and I know other man that have to have there oltl,abc your doing the wrong thing,so u might want to think about this,this just can’t be ,this is our time ,don’t take it away…it is the best,why would u even want to do this,if i want a cook show ,I will look at this when my soaps are not on….so get it ,we have to have our oltl…..we will look at the show ,to see what u are selling,and we will NOT BE BUYING ANYTHING YOUR SELLING,so think about this…thanks

I totally agree OLTL which I have been watching for the past thirtheen years is the best. I have grown to love all the actors/actresses. I refuse to watch anything that takes it’s place and I’ve always loved ABC but, I’m actually considering not watching it at all. I think they are going to loose alot of viewers.
I can’t believe ABC would even consider taking these 2 major soaps off the air! I won’t EVER watch ABC again! I have many friends who feel the same way. I have been watching for 35+ years… How could you do this to your loyal viewers?
I really pissed nobody wants to look at the crap they are going to put on the air in place of these two soap. I think there is more to this removal then they are saying. I am so sad that you want to take these shows off. I have been watching these shows for at least since they started. We plan our whole day around them. When it is time to come on TV we stop what we are doing and have to see O.L.T.L. and A.M.C. There is nothing on TV worth watching till later in the day. Rethink your choice. Please.

I have watched All My Children since it aired. I can’t believe that it will end in a couple of weeks. My mother watched it for many years, and my daughter grew up watching it. My daughter is in the 30 year age group that supposedly doesn’t watch the show. I think it is so unfair to the cast to have moved them all out to California, and then to cancel the show. I’ll definitely not be watching the replacement show. I had been told that one of the other networks might take over the show, but I haven’t seen anything on line about it. I so wish that was true. I guess I will have more time for my hobbies as I won’t be able to watch my very favorite show.

I have been watching one life to live for over 20 years now, i was just a little girl when i started watching because my mother and grandmother watched them. I m sooo sooo very sad to hear they will be canceled. I will not watch anything in replace of my long time favorite show! hope you maybe can rethink your dessicion.

No replacement shows for me! A MC & OLTL have been a part of my life for 41 years(since I had my daughter). The actors became extended family and friends and I looked forward to spending time with them with every show. Over the years, I was not always able to see the shows at their viewing times because of work. But I was able to keep up-to-date
with the soap publications, catching the show sometimes at a co-workers home during our lunch hour, listening while I worked at home and for the past few years, the SoapNet channel. But they too will not be carrying the soaps in the future. Because of ABC’s exes’ decisions not to varry the shows (not making enough money), what is to happen to the hundreds of people who work on these shows. It seems ABC is putting ALOT of people out of work. To me, AMC & OLTL have been like a never-ending novel. For these 40+ years, I have been a loyal fan to the ABC Soaps. A big THANK YOU to all the people who worked behind the scenes and to the great actors who made these stories come to life. They will be greatly missed!
I am very disapointed! Since I have wachted this show for I can’t tell you how long and look forward to each episode. I watched this with my mother, who is now deceased. My lunch hour was always a valued break from the daily grind. I am not interested in another cook show or a reallity show…boring! I will not be watching The Chew for sure!!! I am so sorry you did not consider how people felt about cancelling All MY CHILDREN.i WILL NOT WATCH THE SHOWS YOU ARE PUTTING IN THEIR PLACE. i DO HOPE YOU WILL RECONSIDER OR THAT FOX OR SOME OTHER STATION WILL PICK THIS UP AND CONTINUE IT. Just outrageous – I watched these shows with my mom, now with my daughter and granddaughter – we DONT need another cooking show or a stupid talk show – we need our daily FIX!! Even our husbands are into these shows – though they dont admit it!!

I really hope you are planning on keeping both All My Children and One Life To Live on the air. I have been watching these shows for over 40 years. They are my “rest time” when I have a very hectic day. Please rethink this decision. I am sick to death of talk shows and supposed reality shows. Let me have my peace back!
I too have been watching these two shows since day one. When I was working I recorded them and watched them after the kids were put to bed. I’m retired now and everybody knows to leave me alone for 2 hours. I’m so mad about these shows leaving. I would rather see this than another talk show or another cooking show!!! I can’t express how much I hate this!! These shows are the only reason I even go to this station!!!

As a stay at home disabled mom, I can’t tell you how sad I am to see Pine Valley leave the home that has been a source of entertainment for me through all my surgeries. What better way to recuperate than watching Erika, Jesse and Angie, Kendall and Zak, Ryan and Greenlee, Tad and especially Opal and everyone else that has made daytime TV the icon that it has become. I don’t know how Monday is going to be without them, but do know that I will not be watching the new “Reality” show. I believe that we have enough cooking shows on and that this is overkill. Best of luck to all the actors and actresses that have made daytime television what it is today, I only wish that this wasn’t good-bye.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS….ABC has always been my favorite…all three soaps every afternoon are DVR’d for me to watch later in the evening when I get home from work! I love to relax to these shows! i WILL NOT watch these stupid new shows.

I feel such a loss with AMC gone. ABC will never air in my home again unless they bring AMC back. Maybe loosing one viewer doesn’t bother ABC, but it makes me feel better knowing that I can dump them!

I am very upset with ABC over canceling All My Children and One Life to Live and that it would be over money. This whole world is so greedy we are in a big mess and now because ABC thinks that the shows they replace the soaps with will make them more. I won’t be watching them in fact I might just not watch ABC at all in protest to them canceling the 2 soaps. If all of us that love these soaps stopped watching ABC at all then maybe they would know that they shouldn’t have did it..
I waited until I could wait no longer…..You have to find a way to bring back “All My Children”….this program is one that I watched every night before going to bed. It was like a part of my day and I truly miss it. The show that was put in it’s place is horrible and I know you can not compare the ratings. “One Life to Live” is another show that should not be removed.

I DVR OLTL and GH, I used to DVR AMC but now that Im working do not ahve time for all of them. Enough talk shos and reality tv. Leave these TV icons on the air.

I plan to boycott ABC as they have taken away two of the greatest soaps ever. All My Children and One Life to Live were the greatest soaps. I watched them as a young girl and will miss them terribly. I don’t think that ABC is going to listen to their viewers. What a shame that they won’t listen to their viewers. They are planning on canceling General Hospital in September of 2012. I am leaving ABC now and not watching General Hospital. It is too bad that we as fans could not organize a picket against ABC. Maybe we could all not only boycott them but Occupy them. This is just another case of corporate greed! I hope ABC crashes and burns. They have had a while now to reconsider but they won’t. I feel so bad for all of the wonderful soap actors and actresses. They didn’t deserve this especially at a time when our economy is in such bad shape. Shame on you ABC!
The only shows that I watched on ABC were the soaps: All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital. I don’t like the view or any of the talk shows or cooking shows. I don’t care for the sexually explicit shows or gay comedies. I plan to block ABC entirely. I plan to switch over to CBS from now on. They have better shows in the evening! Unfortunately you made the same mistake as Netflix did when they became too greedy and had their own agenda. As a result they lost a lot of viewers. Its pretty horrible taking OLTL off the air. There are only a few things in life you can depend on…. Grandma’s leave, husbands get boring, kids grow up and friends change, even jobs change with the times as they are. OLTL was one thing that stayed, that was there for you even when the world was falling apart around you. I don’t know if you can reconsider ABC but if you can bring OLTL back!

I’m so brokenhearted over this!! I loved One Life to Live and I hate that it left me with so many what happens next feeling! I LOVED that they brought Trevor St. John’s character back from the dead because I loved him but at the same time WHAT THE HELL?! I’ll miss this show so much and if people finally come to their senses and bring the show back (even online) I’ll be there.

I won’t watch either of those stupid shows! They have the money to keep them on our soaps and they won’t sell the rights to the soaps. The reason is they know these two shows are not going to make it and if they sell the rights to our soaps they know everyone will watch the soaps instead and they do not want that. I watch other soaps in the day at least I don’t have to watch the chew or revolution for now anyways. Now that my favorite shows One Life to Live, and All My Children that I’ve been watching on and off since the 70′s have been canceled, I now have reasons to get out of the house in the afternoon to shop, workout. you name it, but most of all turn the TV off. Just what America needed after Lunch a show focused on food when we are suffering from an Obesity problem. And, a second show focusing on all our faults that need to be improved on.
