Mariah Carey Gives Birth to Twins!
Mariah Carey has given birth to twins! People Magazine reports that the singer delivered a baby girl and a baby boy on Saturday – the third anniversary of her marriage to husband Nick Cannon. Mariah, 42, had the babies at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. According to a statement from Mariah’s rep, the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was second, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches. The couple has not yet announced the twins’ names.
“She’s doing great,” the rep said of Mariah, who listened to her song “We Belong Together” along with Nick after the birth. “I spoke to both of them and they are both completely overjoyed.” Nick wrote on Twitter: “I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been in my life. I never had more amazing things happening. I am humbled by God’s Favor!!”
Later, the couple renewed their vows with Rev. Al Sharpton, as they do every year on their anniversary. “I am just leaving Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. She had twins yesterday on their 3rd anniversary. I had prayer with them and the babies,” Sharpton tweeted on Sunday. “I also conducted the renewal of their vows and the blessing of the newborn twins. Mariah looks GREAT, and the babies are beautiful.”
Nick also wrote about renewing his vows on Twitter: “Yep, we just had a wedding in the hospital,” he tweeted. “Thank you to @THEREVAL who came all the way to the hospital to renew me and my wife’s vows and pray with our children.”
