Rashard Mendenhall Twitter Msg: “What Kind of Person Celebrates Death?”
Millions of people tweeted in celebration of Osama bin Laden’s death and thousands more gathered and partied over the news but one person who’s not quite understanding the positive reaction is Rashard Mendenhall.
The Pittsburgh Steelers running back tweeted “What Kind of Person Celebrates Death?” in regards to the killing of the Alqaeda leader this weekend.
He continued, “It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…”
This comment sparked a lot of controversy and a great amount of fury in many people around the world.
One person who has spoken out in response to Mendenhall’s comments is Steelers President Art Rooney ll.
“I have not spoken with Rashard so it is hard to explain or even comprehend what he meant with his recent Twitter comments,” Rooney said in a statement.
“The entire Steelers’ organization is very proud of the job our military personnel have done and we can only hope this leads to our troops coming home soon.”
It seems as though Rashard is a supporter of the 911 conspiracy theories as well, which may have led to the comment on his Twitter page this week.
“We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style,” he said.
