Hines Ward may be one of Dancing with the Stars favorite contestants of 2011 but there’s one group of people not jumping on the fan bandwagon of this Pittsburgh Steelers star – that’s the police.
According to TMZ.com, “Hines Ward was removed from a vehicle at gunpoint by LAPD officers and placed in handcuffs this morning in LA – but he was NOT arrested.”
Reports show that Hines was a passenger in a Honda Civic vehicle at approximately 2am when the car was pulled over by police.
The license plate of the vehicle the Dancing with the Stars finalist was traveling in was reported stolen and, subsequently, everyone in the car was considered guilty until police could prove who actually stole the car.
After Hines and his female friend (the woman driving the car) complied with police and got out of the car as guns were pointed on them, the woman quickly explained that she was the one who called the police and reported the car stolen to begin with.
Apparently, the woman got her car back but forgot to tell the police that it had been returned. Whoopsie! Must have slipped her mind.
We knew Hines would never be involved in grand theft auto. The only thing he’s guilty of stealing this year is the spotlight on the dance floor!
