Casey Weston & Tim Mahoney hit the stage for Adam Levine’s team tonight on The Voice TV Show. Their song was “Leather and Lace.”
During rehearsal Weston was really worried about her harmonies. She felt that she didn’t have enough experience and she was worried she would let Adam down. I don’t think she had to worry – he seemed behind her 1000%. He even made mention that she was a lot better than she thought she did – and he hoped she would learn that eventually.
Now Mahoney was a bit of a crap shoot. Adam warned about him about his falsettos. Mahoney was unclear as to whether or not he was going to listen to him. So it was up to the battle to see how they would perform.
The rehearsal went well but Casey KILLED it. She seriously killed it. She had such a unique voice that pulled through. She was even compared to Stevie Nicks by the coaches. Mahoney had some points where he didn’t sound right. Cee Lo seemed to like him though saying he has never heard a sound so unique.
But I have to say I am SO happy with Adam’s decision here! I think she definitely deserved it!

I felt the girl was too much like Stevie Nicks. I liked the dudes unique approch and his high falsetto..
Does anybody really deserve to be eliminated at this point? All the contestants are really talented. Having said that I really think that you hit the nail on the head when you said Casey KILLED it. She is a unique talant already and has such an upside potential that I can’t wait to see what she will do in the next rounds.
If the intent of the show was to find a “Voice”, then why not go with something that is new and unique? I was looking forward to seeing Tim progress thru the show and hearing something exciting from him each week. He was the only reason I was watching the show. Instead, we are stuck with Adam’s choice of a familiar sound, in a nice to look at package. If I wanted to see a music industry “cliche”, I would just watch MTV or American Idol.. or The Hills. Thanks for freeing up my Tuesday Nights Adam.

Casey was good and has a unique voice but I heard her getting nervous at the end of the song and she was shaking!!! Now Tim with less words to sing he absolutely rocked the house!!! Adam if your trying to win this thing you should have picked Tim he has a lot more talent then Casey. Peace out!!!
The only thing Casey killed was Adam’s chances to have a winner. As Rob said, if they were looking for a real voice and not a “package,” Tim would have won with flying colors.

Just like Rob R stated, thanks for freeing up my Tuesday nights. The truly unique voice of Tim Mahoney is mezmerizing to me. If I accidently see the show in the future, I will be behind Cee Lo who recognized how unique Tim’s voice is.
I think Adam got it wrong! Tim wasn’t even given a chance…He was given the back up vocals to a girl who was basicly singing Karokee…… Have you heard any of Tim’s other songs on itunes??? He definatly has a great voice!!!

I think that they are both very talented. Both have unique voices. Really hated to see Mahoney go! I have seen him play in the cities, loved him, bought one of his CD’s and he is part of my I-pod favorites. I sure hope being on TV, showing America his voice is not over for him. Tim Mahoney is very talented and deserves to be a STAR!
Adam blew this call, Casey had two advantages over Tim, and none of them had to do with talent. Go Tim! Casey’s just another Stevie Nicks wannabe, not unique at all. Back to watching Idol now!

I don’t think Casey “KILLED” it at all. Her voice was not even remotely unique either. She did one thing right though – a KILLER outfit!! But I have to be fair, Tim did not stand out in the duet. That round was Tim’s one and only chance to make his mark and he should have put more soul into his performance. Casey stepped up her game near the end of the song although people had to put their ears near the speakers to hear her “voice” sometimes.
Adam clearly liked Casey before they even performed. Tim is a true artist and Casey is just a singer. A lounge singer. I will stick with Idol thankyou….I was excited to see a different twist to this kind of competition….this show got real lame real fast for me. I hope Tim gets what he has worked so hard and deserves….Chris Daughtry didn’t win Idol and neither did Jennifer Hudson and you can go on, but it got them exposed! Good luck to Tim! You deserve better!
I didnt like Mahoney in the Blind Auditions and am glad to see him go. Adam made the right choice. CeeLo and Blake also made the right choice. However I feel that Christina was to only judge to make the wrong choice.
Yes, Tim should have won easily. The Voice is supposed to be about finding unique talent based on voice alone. The song choice,(Leather and Lace), was geared towards the female who the judges stated sounded like Stevie Nicks. Tim is not a backup singer and should have had the opportunity to be lead. The song choice was biased and unfair. That is all we need..another copycat singer or another Taylor Swift. Tim has a unique voice, which was stated on The Voice by more than one judge. More importantly, Tim also writes and performs much of his own music..which the female did not. This is a talent which the music industry needs. His music is different and his voice is awesomely unique. Celo obviously saw this and I only wish that he would have chosed Tim. Also, if the show is entitled “The Voice”, the judges should be unable to see the contestants until the end of the show. It really is no different than Idol..except for the first tryout. Adam chose Tim more quickly than any judge did for any contestant. It makes me wonder if Tim had been a female what the outcome would be? Tim should have won…he has thousands of fans and would make a lot of $ for the music industry. Hopefully, there is an intelligent music producer/exec out there who saw the episode and realizes what a find Tim is. One final point..people are tired of young female singers coming out in too tight dresses, trying to look sexy as a replacement for lack of talent. It is about time we get a handsome, hot, gifted guy like Tim in the spotlight. That is what will really sell records!!

You are right Jenny, with the huge fan base Tim has, he can hit the floor running for any producer/exec interested in the bottom line.
Tim’s voice was amazing. when he came out with those first lines, his voice gave me chills. i definetly think that was set up casey to win it. But i had never heard this song before and this version with them two singing it is top ten all time for me. one of my favorite songs.
Tim has much more raw talent. Period. I have seen him develop since high school. Tim has a special talent and it did not come across on the show. Best of luck Tim!
No. Casey copied Nicks, and has the voice to pull it off. Tim made the song his. Casey has issues with voice control and emotionality. Tim is expressive and knows exactly what to hit. But then, see, it’s subjective. Casey makes me cringe over the cracks and want to just listen to the originals. Tim gives me chills.
By the by, if you’re going to make accusations in something masquerading as an article, mind backing it up with some details? Dunno what you mean by Tim “not sounding right” unless it’s just a reference to him not spot-on copying the original.
