Is the world going to end of May 21st 2011 (what many are referring to as Judgement Day)?
This is the question millions of people all over the world are trying desperately to find the answer to.
While most people believe the world will not end on May 21st 2011 – or October 21st 2011 – or December 21st, 2012, there are still many people who believe this will happen.
While most people have heard about the Mayan’s belief that the world will end on Dec 21st 2012, a new group of people have come forward with claims that the Doomsday will actually happen a lot sooner – some predicting this Saturday as the beginning of the end.
A California-based radio station has launched a worldwide billboard campaign claiming May 21 as Judgment Day. The billboards indicate the date with a caption that says “The Bible guarantees it.”
So how exactly will the world end this week?
According to beliefs, “God will destroy the world through an earthquake, which will start in New Zealand at 6pm on May 21 and from there the earthquake will follow the Sun and go from nation to nation.”
And while the event is supposed to begin on May 21, the Family Radio station says that there will be a 5-month torment on earth, with God destroying the world on Oct. 21.
So there you have, what some people believe to be, the story of how the world will end this year.
Time will only tell if they’re right…we’ll find out for sure in 4 days.

I am very sad for those who have been following this lie that the rapture will occur on May 21st. Even if they attempt to explain away “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32), they cannot explain away that most every Christian, theologian, scholar, and prophet from the first Century until the Nineteenth Century all believed that the church would go through the Great Tribulation and not escape through some secret rapture that would leave the world paralyzed. In other words, it is possible for man to know when the end will come, though Jesus said that he would return as a “thief in the night” without man’s prior knowledge. Man will know when the end is near but we will know know when the second coming will be. It may be after the day of judgement.
I don’t deserve to be saved, but I hope that I and those I love and care for are saved. Still, I am not convinced of May 21st as the end, nor December 21, 2012.

I am lucky that in 1992 I met the Lord in person, just as Paul did. The world is blessed and continues. Nobody needs to worry this weekend, but keep up your prayers anyway. Don’t be scared by the minds of men!

If you believe Harold Camping or any other source that derives from his prophecy of judgement day on May 21,2011, please read this post BEFORE you sell your house, car, belongings, children – or anything else – and BEFORE you quit or jeopardize your job, company/business or income.
(It is ironic that Camping takes the position that there is no more true prophecy given after the Book of Revelations was written by John ["the last-ever prophet"], yet prophesies himself; he is, in fact, speaking as a witness against himself. Christ openly stated that a kingdom divided cannot stand, so how can Camping be representative of the kingdom of heaven when he denies the source and veracity of his own prophetic statements?!!)
A caller today (05/17/2011), attempted to address the following point (which Camping never allowed to be fully exposed let alone addressed; interesting that he is afraid of what the scripture says!)
The caller followed Biblical protocol of Scriptural understanding found in Prov 25:1-3:
“These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
“The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.”
and Isa 28:9-13:
“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
“To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.”
He (the caller) started with what Paul writes (1 Thes 4:13-18):
“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
and then added 1 Cor 15:50-52:
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
He should have had Camping read v53 also as it is in the context of the passage:
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
The caller asked for a simple verification from Camping that these passages were speaking of the same event, ‘the rapture’, so he could establish that as “the precept”, to ask his real question (he said as much many times, but as usual, Camping did not listen or just ignored him and attempted to force a “question” as is his habit when he senses a scriupturally-literate caller).
BTW, Camping did agree that these passages were both speaking of ‘the rapture’.
Then the Caller brought Camping’s attention to Hosea 6:1-2 (this is where he – the caller – made his mistake, BTW!):
“Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
“After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”
As is his habit when he knows the passage he’s been asked to read does not support but instead reveals truth that speaks against his own personal theology – and prophecy of judgement day/the rapture on 05/21 – Camping began to insert his own commentary instead of just reading the scripture and JUST the scripture to let it explain itself.
This irked the caller, and, as is common, things unraveled quickly: Camping cut him off claiming to the caller it was the caller’s view of the scripture and not “the bible’s”, which he (Camping) would not allow on his radio show.
It was clear from what the caller did get out over the air that this passage of scripture was indeed speaking prophetically of ‘the rapture’.
Review it for yourself, it is plain and in the clear exactly speaking of the same event that the initial passages do and Camping – under duress – did agree were specifically about the rapture (I’ll give the reasons why I say this later).
Looking at the Hosea passage in it’s full and immediate context (5:14 – 6:2), and also in view of the overall context of Hosea in this portion of the book (it begins in 5:1), I SEE THAT THE CALLER HAS A VERY VALID OBSERVATION THAT PLACES CAMPING’S PROPHECY OF MAY 21, 2011 IN ABSOLUTE CONTRADICTION TO WHAT THE SCRIPTURE SAYS IN PLAIN VIEW, *ESPECIALLY* WHEN CAMPING’S OWN RULES ARE APPLIED.
First, here is the appropriate section of Hosea in it’s FULL but immediate context (5:14 – 6:2) using Camping’s ‘only’ text, the King James:
“For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him. I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
“Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”
While the KJV is a laudable work for being the first “real” (but is most famous for it being the first widely) published version of the Scriptures in English, it has been proven time and time again to have many textual, contextual, and other errors.
A most acceptable and more clarifying text to use to better understand any given passage is the overwhelmingly-widely accepted Amplified, so here is the same section from that:
“For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go on [rending]; I will carry off and there will be no one to deliver. I will return to My place [on high] until they acknowledge their offense and feel their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction and distress they will seek, inquire for, and require Me earnestly, saying, ‘COME AND let us return to the Lord, for He has torn so that He may heal us; He has stricken so that He may bind us up. After two days He will revive us (quicken us, give us life); on the third day He will raise us up that we may live before Him.’”
FIRST AND FOREMOST NOTICE: The Amplified shows these verses (5:14 – 6:2) ALL TOGETHER IN ONE CONTEXT. Even in other versions of the Bible, where they are written as separate sentences, it is clear in ALL of them that 6:1 is a continuation of the message of all of chapter 5 – READ IT YOURSELF, now – the whole of chapter 5 – as it is vital to a key point later on!
So, let’s take a closer look at the elements of this passage in Hosea:
– The ending/culminating event is the resurrection ON the third day (6:2);
– The reviving event is AFTER two days (which is ALSO “on” the third day);
– Both of these events are preceded by the time before which “we” – the Priests and ALL of Israel (5:1) have turned from The Lord (they REturn to Him in 6:1)
The religion of “the Isrealites – Judaism -” has yet to even recognize, let alone accept, The Logos (Word/Christ) whom John speaks of (John 1; 3:16, etc), Who is their Savior, too. (This is what Hosea’s prophecy is primarily about, the Jewish acceptance of “Yeshu” as He is called in the Talmud [Sanhedrin 43a]).
But the prophecy here clearly says that they not only must, but will return to Him BEFORE the two days are finished. Since this is the prophecy, and scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35), for if it is, then God becomes a liar (I speak as a man!), which also breaks scripture (Num 23:19, 1 Sam 15:29, 1 John 2:27), then yet other scripture requires the remnant peoples of Israel to be gathered back to the nation (Isa 11:11):
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”
Which is not only happening now, and has been for awhile since after the ’67 war, but is not yet complete as they are still arriving daily;
The temple must be rebuilt and sacrifices restored because Christ foretold that it would exist and that the anti-christ would commit the Abomination of Desolation (Matt 24:14-15). If HIS Words fail, then a non-recoverable catastrophic failure of all scripture ensues, which is the real goal of the dogma which Camping – unwittingly I am sure – is in agreement with to have put so much of his life’s earnings and 50+ years of life into announcing around the globe.
The Bible is clear that a prophetic day can be a literal day (the 7 days of the week; the three days – and nights – before Christ’s resurrection, are establishing examples).
But “a day” can also mean in bible-speak an earthly year. This is evidenced in the prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 known as the “70 weeks” prophecy. Look at the language of this prophecy yourself and you’ll find that it was actually spoken by the angel GabriEl as “sevens” not weeks, but the Hebrew word is one which specifically means “heptad” which is known to be the representation of a (literal) week, so to call it the “70 *weeks*” prophecy is not incorrect. Since the commandments which were the milestones of the prophecy were given in the 530′s BC, and early 400′s BC but The Messiah’s birth/arrival wasn’t until the last BC decade (less than 10 BC), the collection of 483 “days” which the 69 weeks contain clearly manifested as years rather than literal days/weeks. They certainly could not have been the other variety of 1 day=1,000 years for we would still be waiting another 480,000+ years for His first arrival!
The final “form” in which the bible speaks prophetically – and is well-known and understood – is it often represents 1,000 years as a day (2 Pet 3:8; Camping – as far as I know – has *never* brought up Ps 90:4 which is the second and confirming witness to this precept).
Camping has stated umpteen-bazillion times his agreement with this precept and applies it in his theologies.
So, the next “line upon line” to study out is which form of day is it here in Hosea 6?
If it is a literal day, or the 1 day=1 year form, then this prophecy would have been fulfilled hundreds of years before even the prophet DaniEl lived! (Hosea lived c780-725 BC). And it was DaniEl’s prophecy – which he clearly received during the Babylonian captivity – that gave the time-line to the FIRST coming of the Messiah Who hadn’t even fulfilled His Life, let alone resurrection yet, which CLEARLY precedes the resurrection of those referred to in Hosea 6:1-2. So it is clearly NOT POSSIBLE that the passage in Hosea 6 of “after two days and on the third day” be properly understood and applied as anything other than the 1,000 year variety of day.
For Harold Camping’s prophecy to be true and correct (as of Tuesday evening 05/17/2011):
A)Judaism has less-than-100 hours to:
– globally recognize Christ, accept Him as Savior, Repent, and
– rebuild the Temple, to restore the sacrifices prophesied in Daniel (9:27 which the above passage in Matthew referred)
B)the Son of Perdition/Real Anti-Christ person has the same less-than-100 hours and MUST:
1)enter-into/restore the covenant with Israel (Dan 9:27),
2)Allow sacrifices to be restored, and continued (for 3 and 1/2 *years*),
3)Speak lies with the king of the South (Dan 11:25-27)
4)Engage in armed conflict with the ships of Kittim (Cyprus; see Dan 11:30 in the NASB footnotes)
5)Return with yet another army against Israel to: “desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.” (Dan 11:31)
Since this is only the MIDST of the week in the prophetic time-line of Daniel 9:27, another 3 and 1/2 years of time must be additionally compressed into these less-than-100 hours to allow for all the other plethora of end-time prophecies to come into fulfillment BEFORE the great day of the resurrection of Hosea 6:2;
Such as Dan 12:11:”From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.” (1,290 days is by the true Hebrew calendar that includes the special leap-year month of VeAdar).
BEFORE READING THIS POST ANY FURTHER – IF YOU HAVEN’T YET DONE SO – READ THE ENTIRE CHAPTER OF HOSEA 5, so you will see that the following statement is, indeed, true.
NOWHERE ELSE in the text or context of Hosea 5 is there a milestone/chronological time-marker FROM which to start counting the two “days” (=2,000 years) OTHER THAN 5:14.
ALSO, nowhere else IN SCRIPTURE is there a clear connection of the timing TO the resurrection referred to in Hosea 6 other than that of ‘the rapture’ events and other like scriptures, clearly marking it as an event to occur AFTER the last trump (which the caller began with: 1 Thes 4 & 1 Cor 15 above).
Hosea 5:14, though, does tell us the connective chronological milestone:
“For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go on [rending]; I will carry off and there will be no one to deliver…”
[Scripture, here in Hosea, and elsewhere:
- clearly identifies the Messiah as being represented as the Young Lion of Judah;
- that He will "rend and go on rending (other translations say this as 'destroy')"
which is the picture of Messiah destroying the works of the devil
by His death on the cross...
and resurrection on the third day... (1 John 3:7-8; + Matt 17:23, Mark 9:31, Luke 24:21,
1 Cor 15:4)]
– the hallmark part of the Hosea passage follows:
“… I will return to My place [on high] until they acknowledge their offense and feel their guilt and seek My face;…”

Final aside comment: Matt 24:35-36 is a most misunderstood passage (as is it’s companion passage in Mark), read it C A R E F U L L Y and you will find that Christ is referring to the day and hour which heaven and earth will pass, and NOT that of His Return. There IS sufficient information in Scripture that we can know the DAY: the 15th of Tishri (which, again, is another story), the interesting question is the year, and when the history is fully corrected with the correct astronomical data applied appropriately – which Camping does not do – that will also be soon revealed.

This probably won’t happen for another million years and none of us will be around and the human race will probably be erased by then anyway. The second “big bang” will create the start of another universe and life will start again and evolve. The universe contracts over time and then expands with an erruption (big bang) this cycle continues over billions of years. So we don’t know which “big bang” we are living in. There could have been another universe created before us and there will be another one after us.
