Did you miss The Voice or want to rewatch the week 4 battles? We’ve got them for you!
While yesterday was definitely not the most exciting episode we’ve seen – there was a lot less drama for us viewers – it was still a great episode.
I think we saw some of the coach’s strategies:
Javiar Colon vs. Angela Wolf
Adam, for example, seemed to pit against the strongest singer (Javiar) with the weakest in my opinion (Angela) just so that he could kick her out. Angela sounded so inexperienced next to Javiar and the more she focused on her voice, the less she focused on stage presence which Javiar oozes.
Watch the Performance below:
Beverly McClellan vs. Justin Grennan
I felt that Christina did the same thing with Beverly and Justin – although Justin definitely surprised her with his version of “Baba O’Riley” I think she thought it was going to be as Adam described “A Lamb brought to slaughter.” I had a hard time being on Justin’s side – mostly because we missed his blind audition. I thought they could have AT LEAST showed it so that viewers could connect with him a little better. We’ll see if they change that on Season 2 of The Voice:
Watch their performance below:
Tje Austin vs. Nakia
Then there was Tje Austin vs. Nakia – what was that!? I didn’t think their voices blended at all and I thought it was definitely a bad idea to let Tje Austin go home. His voice is so perfect, and while it didn’t succeed over Nakia’s unique voice – I definitely think it deserved a chance for a record deal! The song was made for Tje’s voice but in the end, I think it screwed up his chances because it sounded like the song should sound. Nakia’s unique voice made the song different – so of course Cee Lo would pick that!
Watch their performance below:
Elenowen vs. Jared Blake
Elenowen and Jared was a tough call. They seem to both do so well – and I really think Elenowen will end up with a bigger record deal when they leave the show. They have to – they’re a perfect musical marketing masterpiece! So while I’m sad they are gone, I know they will definitely do well when they get out.
