The 2011 Season of Dancing with the Stars has officially come to a close and we can exclusively reveal which lucky couple walked away with the coveted mirror-ball trophy.

The winner of Dancing with Stars 2011 is Hines Ward but many fans seem to think they weren’t worthy of the title and trophy.
The Final Three couples consisted of Kirstie and Maks, Chelsea and Mark and Hines and Kym. While Hines and Chelsea consistently topped the leaderboard (especially in the final few episodes), Kirstie couldn’t manage to impress the judges quite as much. Luckily she always had her dedicated fans voting religiously to make up for her lack of marks from the judges.
It was a tight race between the final three couples but only one couple could come out on top. Now that it’s been announced, I have to ask: Do you think deserved to win Dancing with the Stars 2011 or do you think one of the other finalists deserved it instead?
Yes! I do think hines ward deserve to win he work very hard for that mirror ball trophy.
He was the best from the beginning to end of season 12. I don’t see why people would even think that.
Chelsea clearly should have won! she had the best technique the others didn’t do anything as impressive as her. I will not watch next season as it’s a popularity contest not a true competion. I’m very disapponted. From day 1 chelsea was the best

I have 2 respond to this whinning Kim. The man “Hines” Is the winner. I saw him from day one and he was The Best! Were you one of them same people who cried when Sarah Palin’s daughter got botted off last year! So you won’t watch because she did not win this year ? Maybe you should have stopped watching last year when the real no talents were present
i think hines did a great job…and its not just the judges scores that decided the winner, it was also the fans. and hines clearly has a lot of steeler fans… great job hines….
He won according to the rules, therefore yes, he deserved it. It’s a quasi-popularity contest, not a pure talent show.
Yes it was a popularity contest, no doubt!!! However, the winner should be judged on talent, therefore Chelsea and Mark are the clear winners hands down! I have usually agreed with past winners but this season I was greatly disappointed and when the judges gave their scores for each couples last dance it was a perfect score for all three. How could all three have a perfect score when some of the remarks for Kirstie were not so perfect? Now don’t get me wrong I like Kirstie and she did a great job at 60 years of age but come on her dancing was less than perfect!!! I hope in the future votes will be based on talent and not popularity!!!
I watched the show from the beginning to the end and I think Hine should have won it, Chelsea was good but I think the best team won. I love Kristie and she did dance well for a 60 year old woman, but the two who won it should not), when Emmitt Smith won, was a lot said about it? Hine worked hard and it paid off. So be happy for him. I do nto always look at dancing with the stars, but if someone interesting is on, I watch it. I enjoyed this particular one. Have a wonderful day.
Allowing the viewers to vote, it is turned into a popularity contest instead of a dance contest. Most of the viewers are not dancer so the judges comments influence the way they vote. The pros are doing a great job but I think it is time for a new set of judges. I think the show should be more ‘family-orented’ too. Many people that I know say that they have to record the show and play it after their kids go to bed due to some of the vulgar moves. I honestly believe that the judges choose the winners before the competition gets started!
and seriously, Chelsea was totally awesome so I believe she and Mark should have won!!!
Hines worked very hard and did a great job especially at the end. However, from the beginning Chelsea was awesome. I don’t know how Kirstie ever made it past Chelsea that’s insane. Due to the fact fans get to vote it’s not based on who danced and entertained the best. There are a crazy amount of Steelers fans out there who I am sure supported Hines all the way. Kirstie has been around for awhile and has a large fan base built up. Chelsea is young and even though she was awesome at the dancing she just doesn’t have the fan base at 22 years of age that the other two professionals do. I know they say she was on the Disney Channel but I still have no idea what she did.
Hines was selected within the boundaries of the rules of the contest so it was completely fair. Is the system flawed. From a talent perspective, absolutely. But nothings perfect. Congrats to the winner and to all who went out there to entertain us in area where they were beginners!
Hines deserved it all the way. Dancing is not only about technique, it’s about entertainment and reaching out to the audience. Chelsea had a beautifl performance, but the last dance was to my taste, a bit off track. However, how come Kirsty came in 2nd….I really don’t know
I honestly feel that no he did not deserve to win it. Even when Chelsea danced better….her Party in the USA dance was AWESOME some how Hines scored better. She showed more heart and more determination then anyone else out there. Yet she was doomed from the beginning since her fan base weren’t even old enough to vote. The whole competition was spent hearing about the “Steelers Nation” instead of his technical merit. Then Kym get’s “hurt” and he cries and he gets a perfect score….I’m not buying that either coming from injurying my C-3 prior and knowing how I could barely walk 3 steps let alone stand up or dance. Spent some time in a wheelchair because of it….but she’s still dancing away…BS….I wanna see the medical records.The way I look at it is voting for a person on DWTS just because he plays for the Steelers is like voting for a president just because he’s white…makes no sense. Based on popular vote….yeah he won fair….based on merit HELL NO….sad just because you can’t win a Superbowl you gotta “steal” the Mirror Ball….enjoy your “Superbowl Trophy” Hines….you surely won’t be getting any others since karma is a b^tch.
He’s a 2 time Super Bowl winner what are u crying about not winning a SB & stealing MB Trophy? Nobody deserves anything in life & how can u say she had more heart? When Kym got hurt it was never used as overexposure,it was talked about quickly that Monday! Obviously ur not an athlete & ur body is not use to activity because being a dancer myself? Ur body can do incredible feats when hurt or in pain! Sounds like u had picked a favorite from the start & was not going 2b happy unless she Won? Deserves,more heart my foot…..
The Very Best dancer in my opinion “Ever” was Nichol from the Pussy Cat Dolls. Derek and Nichol blew me away! Everybody else so far was like amateur night at the club! Get more dancers like Nichol!
