Those of you who have not yet seen the Dancing with the Stars 2011 finale and don’t want to know who walked away the winner, do not read any further – major spoiler ahead.
Your Dancing with the Stars Winner for Season 12 is Hines Ward but many fans are furious over Hines’ victory – here’s why:
It’s the age-old complaint with DWTS. Should the person who wins be the best dancer or the contestant who made the most improvement along the way?
I think it’s safe to say that, after past winners like Jennifer Grey and Nicole Scherzinger who have extensive dance backgrounds, it’s the person who ends up being the best dancer – not the person who’s made the most improvement throughout the season.
It’s arguable that Chelsea Kane was a better dancer than Hines Ward at the end. Sure, he likely had a larger fan base being a pro football player and all but it’s very clear that Kirstie Alley made the most improvement from day one up until last night’s finale.
In my opinion, Chelsea was the best dancer, Hines had the most fans and Kirstie should have won.
Just my take on the Final 3 last night.

You BET !!!!! He was FABULOUS !!! You just get over it ! He has the whole pkg. Showmanship. great moves. entertainment. Leading man. Very caring person. GREAT DANCER & OVERALL # 1 Dancing Star ! Hines I love you man. I would dance with you ANY DAY !
On another note however, I hate to say this BUT, does anyone out there feel like I do about this one girl who is one of the prof, dancers of D.W.T.S. Miss. Lacy S. ” Lil Ms Show off” Ms Hog the camara. Take away from the celebrity time & even their camera time. It is always about her. I have even heard the Judges get on her before a season ago. But now shes worse & they just don’t care or guess she just can’t control herself. But it is just so frustrating that the poor celebr. is overshadowed by Lacy. All the other Profes. are SOOO NOT like this at all. They are PROFFESTIONAL. They take their job serious & put the celeb. & the show serious & care about what their doing instead of who THEY are & how much & many 15 min. they can get.
I think Hines Ward had it more difficult than the other danciers worked hard and won. All the guys here in afghan were voting for him
A real hero in many ways and his improvement was wonderful to watch… he started the show not in his comfort zone…. but soon stepped up to the plate to show America that a real man can be graceful and enjoy dancing. He is a hero in many areas…. our young men need to see more of this type of role models in the real world. thanks to
DWS for highlighting him.
