Cheryl Cole was set to hit the judging panel of X-Factor USA but a shocking turn of events has left fans confused as the British beauty was abruptly fired from the gig.
The bombshell was revealed on Thursday when TMZ revealed that Cheryl was being replaced with Nicole Scherzinger – the Pussycat Doll who had initially signed on to co-host the show.
So why was Cheryl Cole fired just two weeks after filming kicked off?
Apparently there were a few reasons for the split. First, it’s being reported that “Her accent stopped U.S. audiences understanding her” and that her and fellow judge Paula Abdul “lack chemistry.”
Many media outlets are reporting that it was the network’s decision to pull the plug on Cheryl but others are claiming that Cheryl freely left because she was homesick. Personally, I think that Simon expected more from her and she didn’t deliver. After all, Simon was not pleased with the way Cheryl showed up on set to kick off filming.
Dressed in purple pants, a bright coral ruffled shirt and Charlie’s Angels inspired hair, Simon had a lot to say about Cheryl’s look – none of which was positive.
“I wasn’t really taken by Cheryl’s hair. It was the equivalent of her using five gallons of hairspray and then standing in the middle of a hurricane! There was a lot of purple going on in the outfits too…”
