The bashful and quiet Sonja and Sara battled it out for Team Blake’s team. The song? Stand by You by the Pretenders.
I was really worried about these two during the rehearsals. You didn’t get a very good idea about what they sounded like and if they were going to play the high notes of the song.
Going into this I was REALLY pulling for Sonja. I just love the sounds and tone of her voice and think she can get really far even though she IS so shy. When she sang Chasing Pavements in he blind audition she gave me chills.
So how did the battle of the shy girls go?
Their voices were so different from each other. When Xenia sang, she gave me goose bumps. There is something so eerie about her voice. Unfortunately though Sara and Xenia were so nervous that it came out. Although, I think it had a lot to do with the song that they were given as well as the pairing.
Putting two shy girls together just seems so wrong – They almost swallowed eachother up you could hear the tension and nervousness.
BUT Xenia is the winner and I think she can definitely go far in this competition. She’s just amazing!
