Bachelorette William: From Favorite to Fail with Mean Roast!

Bachelorette fans saw a whole new side of William tonight when he – along with some of the other bachelors – had the opportunity to roast Ashley during a comedy show.

The guys were given some time to prepare their routines, which they would perform in front of a sold out audience, and William seemed determined to make Ashley cry. And he did.

While William told Ashley that he was on the show to find love, we all learned that he would be ready and willing to throw Ashley under the bus if it meant a few extra minutes on the comedy stage and a few compliments from comedian Jeff Ross.

In addition to saying that all of the bachelors were hoping for Emily Maynard instead of Ashley as this season’s bachelorette (one of Ashley’s biggest securities coming onto the show) he also said things like she was Brad’s leftovers, making Ashley cry hysterically afterwards.

While William went down a million levels in my book tonight – Ames deserves from recognition for being a genuinely sweet guy.

Did you think William was out of line with his comments?

  1. I loved William after their first date. He seemed sincere and I wondered after reading the spoilers what happened to him. Why didn’t he win? now I know. Hes just like every other guy – what a dirtbag!

  2. William was the only guy who actually did what he was supposed to do. The writer of this article, the other commenter, and Ashley apparently don’t know what a roast is. I also don’t understand why the audience booed, unless (likely) they were Bachelorette fans specifically picked for this performance. This was shown not as a roast, but as a “who is willing to overlook the roasting and kiss Ashley’s butt contest.”
Clearly, the producers designed these dates for ratings and optimal sensation/timely exits, because they keep being insanely stupid (secretly pretend Vegas wedding, a roast) or things even Ashley ultimately finds distasteful (a roast, thai boxing).
In one way, I’m glad Ashley sent William home, because she’s a sad desperado who doesn’t deserve half these guys (JP, where were you looking in NY? There are plenty of sweet women! Look at the grocery store.) In another way, I feel bad William felt like a loser. William, you’re not a loser. You do sound a little depressed, and maybe in need of a little bit of meds for that, but you seem like a sweet guy. I hope the brush with fame from the Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad either help you grow inured to the remarks of the ignorant, or that they help you realize you’d prefer a less scrutinized lifestyle.
