Last night’s The Voice was performance based – but it didn’t seem like American Idol at the same time which I was really surprised about. One of the reasons was the performances done by teams with their coaches. Last night we were about to watch Team Christina and Team Blake perform and they were great!
Team Christina played it safe I felt. She used one of her own songs, and she made herself the center of the universe. Even though everyone sounded great – the performance definitely played up certain singers strengths and hid others. I didn’t feel like anyone had their real moment to shine.

Team Blake really worked hard to show everyone and give everyone their moment of glory. They were a bit cheeky by singing Maroon 5′s “This Love”, but I think the song really showed everyone’s strengths. I liked how Blake Shelton showed up at the very end. Even though he killed it he was able to give his team some time to play off eachother. I thought Xenia and Patrick Thomas were amazing, and you saw a real difference with Xenia – she was happy and enjoying herself and less nervous than other performances.

Totally agree Team Blake! I also LOVED that Blake gave his team the stage to perform and have their moment. Such a talented and unique team. They didn’t need all the bells and whistles to look and sound AWESOME!

Yes, I agree. The team Blake stands out as far as those two group performances go. Beverly McClellan is the one singer that stands out over all of the others, though.
Team Christina vs. Team Blake
What a hard choice, I have two favorites from each team. I wish the best to all of the contestants, they were all great!
Completely agree about Team Blake….Christina needs to adjust her ego and be a “coach”, not a diva on display….Blake seems to be sincerely interested in furthering his team members’ careers. There’s some real talent on that show; it only needs to be shown in the right way.
I love Christina and think she is amazingly talented but her comments have really turned me off. The comments she made ( Blake and Adam making out, Adam wetting and soiling his pants and repeatedly telling young singer to take his pants off) really make me rethink letting my children watch this program. I think she is very talented and do not mean to diminish her . I think Blakes team overall showed more solid talent. it will be very close all of the contestants are super talented!!!
