Fans of the Bachelorette 2011 may be throwing insults at bachelor Bentley Williams this week after he embarrassed and humiliated Ashley Hebert in front of millions of viewers but it appears as though Bentley wasn’t acting alone in his plan of shameless self-promotion – he had his ex-wife Suzette David by his side!
After Monday night’s episode aired, I was intrigued to learn more about Bentley’s ex-wife and who exactly would find Bentley’s selfish motives attractive. Turns out, Suzette Davis may be just as manipulative as her shameless ex-husband. Here’s why:
The Master Plan:
As soon as Bentley went on the show, it was revealed that someone had warned Ashley about him. We all know that was former bachelorette Michelle Money. Michelle was informed by Suzette that Bentley was bad news. Suzette isn’t dumb. She knew that by telling this to Michelle (who would in turn warn Ashley) Bentley was sure to get a lot of on-air time.
Bentley made sure to mention his ex-wife and daughter multiple times on the show. He knew that by doing this there would be a huge interest in them outside of the show. He was right.
Suzette may or may not be working with Bentley (which I think she is) but her own line of children’s accessories sure is gaining a lot of publicity this week.
Suzette was interviewed by Access Hollywood this week where she talked briefly about Bentley on the Bachelorette (keep in mind, she didn’t say one bad thing about him other than she was “surprised” by his behavior – ya right) and proceeded to show off her line of accessories called Cozette Couture.
Another few tidbits that lead me to believe that Suzette is just as shameful as her ex-husband in trying to capitalize on the publicity garnered from Bentley’s revolting behavior on the show: Suzette’s Twitter wasn’t updated from July 4 2009 until May 7 2011. Clearly she knew that Bentley would be a big interest on the show and she decided to kick her publicity train into full gear right in time to capitalize from his poor behavior. She tweeted on May 7 “i’mmmm bbbaaacccckkk!” and has been promoting her line ever since.
In addition to all of this, it’s become very clear to me that everyone keeps talking about Bentley promoting his business when he was on the show. I personally never heard him speak of his business. However, I do feel as though he was there to promote something: Cozette Couture.
The Conclusion:
Bentley and Suzette devised a plan for Bentley to go on the show. Suzette texted Michelle asking her to warn Ashley about Bentley, basically securing air time. Bentley acts so obnoxiously and so out-of-line that everyone watching would want to know all about him and his ex-wife. This secures interviews and publicity following the show. Bentley dramatically leaves and he’s the talk of the season. Bentley returns and there’s a renewed interest in him and Suzette – more publicity outside of the show.
Plan worked perfectly.
Mark my words, these two are working together and will back together in no time.

I don’t think that Suzette and Bentley are working together on anything at all. They are divorced for heaven’s sake. I wouldn’t look down on Suzette for trying to use the bad publicity to make something positive out of it. I feel bad that she is having to deal with the publicity at all not to mention did you forget she was married to the jerk?

It seems pretty far-fetched to me.
I was thinking the same thing when I looked at her blog. His promoting his business thing never made sense. She is the manipulator and she must have done surgeries because she looks better now than she used to look.

Goodness you guys! Why so much hate for someone you do not know? I know Suzette. She’s extremely nice and smart and a very good mother (NOT uneducated and NOT trashy). Realize that this is a “reality” show, where they create characters, edit things to death and leave the smallest amount of reality actually in the show. I’m proud of Suzette for taking advantage of a bad situation and hopefully getting some more business. And I’m proud of her for not trash talking the father of her child. Please don’t make such harsh judgements about someone that you saw interviewed for 5 minutes. I wonder what people would think of you if YOU were judged solely on your ex and a few minutes of conversation. Be kind.

I agree. Living in Utah for the past 7 years has REALLY opened my eyes to the shady way of the religion. Also if you look at the past 2 craziest contestants on the show (Michelle Money and this Bentley geek) who are BOTH from Salt Lake City, it’s really starting to show how messed up this state is and how weird and crazy it’s people are.

I agree! I also believe Suzette was jealous and had Michelle email Ashley in hopes she’d refuse to have him on the show. When interviewed you’ll notice Suzette has nothing bad to say about Bentley and uses the excuse it’s because of her daughter. They both like to use their daughter as an excuse! Bentley may be a villian, but Suzette is a villianeous! Suzette knew what she was doing, she wanted Bentley and would do anything to get him! They deserve each other!

I’ll say..after episode 6 you all will see her daughter wears a toilet seat headband like princess Beatrice and they would got all the attention and the talk and all the keyboard clicking like crazy… and by the end of the show they too would auction their toilet seat headband for $300,000 only this time it is not for charity..and they got to laugh all the way to the bank…Yep I do believe they are in this together…like you said… first he said he comes to the show with an ulterior motive..to promote his business only he didn’t say a thing about his besiness and now all we see is his wife doing the promotion…when he leaves he said he leave the dot…dot…dot..instead of the period..yep…he wants leave door open so that he could come back for more publicity.. and in turn his ex-wife would have more chance to promote the “toilet seat” headband

After watching the show I could clearly see that he was attracted to Ashley so it made sense that he added the cruel comments just to make it look good for his ex. This is ALL about Suzette and their plan to boost their companies. There is NO WAY Suzette is not a part of this and her creepy head bands and idea of couture is a joke. She also made a comment in the interview that Ashley “fell in love” in a matter of a few weeks. She was clearly bothered by this and her ex’s obvious display of attraction. I am disgusted by Bentley along with everyone else. He dug his own grave on multiple occasions with his words and actions and I wouldn’t defend him one bit. I’m just wondering why people are buying into this article of them working together.
Not even the author claims to have one source (friend or foe) to corroborate their speculation. Do you know many divorced couple who plot together? They have been separated for years – since before their daughters birth. I’m just not sure why you are chosing to attack the person who divorced him. Would not everyone on here have divorced him as well? And on top of that to criticize her for not bad mouthing the father of her child? I respect that.

wow, anyone who thinks they can judge her and that they have her all figured out (OR bentley for that matter) with only these things they see on tv and hear through gossip…anyone who thinks they are justified in making these judgements and accusations and assumptions at all is extremely ignorant. what would people say if they saw you during the worst times and making the worst mistakes of your life on a television show for all the world to see? even if someone’s (anyone’s) actions are without question bad or wrong and deserve justice…still, that leaves no right for any one of us to judge that person. judge the action, but love the person, no matter what. doesn’t mean you should tolerate bad behavior at all, of course. but what good does it do for anyone to gossip and judge and spew hatred and tear down another person? it accomplishes absolutely nothing. how about we start acknowledging we all make mistakes, and rather than tear people down, maybe because we just have to take out our own misery on other people…maybe instead something more productive would be to work on overcoming our own mistakes, while at the same time helping and loving and building up as many people as we can in our lifetime. i mean c’mon, this is a reality tv show, and absolutely that was upsetting to me about what bentley did and i do not tolerate that behavior at all from anyone including myself. but tearing others down, or myself down, for any wrong behavior accomplishes absolutely nothing, having learned this from personal experience. ironically, to use your time tearing yourself down and tearing others down (for whatever reason) can ultimately destroy everything if you keep it up. if anyone is to ever have a chance or any hope at all for themselves and their futures, their relationships/families, and for humankind as a whole, then forgiveness is essential for everything. if you’re really into juding people, maybe it’d help to shift the focus a little to say, i don’t know, cold blooded murderers and terrorists as opposed to a random stranger who has nothing to do with your life that you think might be trying to sell a product in a free market economy in a free country?
