Amy Winehouse Cancels Tour After Horrific Belgrade Show
Apparently a week of rehab wasn’t enough for Amy Winehouse who had to cancel her European tour due to a horrible performance in Belgrade, Serbia.
The performer started her show on Saturday an hour late, drunk, unsteady, and forgetting the lyrics to her own song. She left the stage on numerous occasions during the 90 minutes she was on stage, dropped the mic, and even stopped her performance to hug it out with her bandmates (I love you mannnn).
Fans were not impressed and booed the performance. She didn’t exactly warm the crowd when she addressed the crowd of 20,000 Serbians with a “Hello, Athens!”
Such an epic EPIC fail.
Alcohol had been banned from the 12 date tour but that didn’t seem to stop Winehouse. By the next day, she had cancelled her appearances in Turkey and Greece.
“Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments,” the statement begins, “she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.”
Amy Winehouse is one of my favorite performers so I just hope she can get back to the studio for her new album and start performing again the right way. Only time will tell!
