Weird Al Yankovic Goes Gaga in “Perform This Way” Parody Vid (WATCH!)
Weird Al Yankovic has gone Gaga! His new parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” called “Perform this Way,” hit YouTube yesterday. In it, the 51 year-old weirdo wears swiss cheese, bees and yes, someone else. His face was digitally placed on the body of a young, fit female with Gaga-like tattoos and dancing chops.
Other crazy costumes include a unicorn headdress, police tape, a giant jelly bean and his small intestines as an accessory. My favorite moment of the video is when Al wears a pointy gold bra and sings, “I’m so completely original, my new look is all the rage,” as he pokes a Madonna lookalike who comes by wearing the same outfit. Yes!
So what did Gaga herself have to say about the jabs/homage? According to The Los Angeles Times, Gaga originally was said to have refused permission for the parody, but it turns out that was coming through her manager, who didn’t ask Gaga first. She actually loved the parody.
