The Voice Tv Show: Frenchie Davis Eliminated – Did She Deserve it?

From the beginning Frenchie Davis and Beverly McClellan have blown the minds of the coaches and viewers alike. It isn’t the first time we’ve seen Frenchie – we’ve seen her on American Idol. Beverly McClellan, on the other hand, is quite the local hero. We’ve even had Twirlit readers speak in comments over the weeks about how they’ve seen her live and how much they love her.

This was a very difficult decision. However, for me I was rooting for Beverly all along. From Janis Joplin in the beginning to BB King last night – Beverly McClellan has blown me away and given me chills consistently week after week.

Christina refused to pick between them. She chose a 50-50 split and like Blake Shelton you really have to respect her for that. It proves that it wasn’t a game for her like it was for Adam and she really loved them both individually.

America decided and they chose Beverly McClellan.

Although Frenchie Davis was a great performer – I just can’t wait to see MORE of Beverly McClellan.

What do you think? Did Frenchie Davies Deserve to be Eliminated Tonight?

  1. It wasn’t a “game” for Adam, he chose to make an educated decision based on the harships and work that Javier had put into his career and he didn’t want the public to be able to take the shot away from him that he clearly deserves. And by the numbers he was the closest to the audience opinion of all the coaches.

    • I agree with you Ross, even if Adam had gone 50/50, by the numbers Javier would have won anyway. No doubt in my mind it wasn’t a game, just strategy. He truly loves them both.

    • Javier is irrogant and does not deserve to win!!!!!! Vicci or Dia should win!!!!!!!!

      • I voted for him 307 times and yes he did deserve to win. Maybe you should learn to spell arrogant…lol.

        • Javier did come off as arrogant and his singing was often pitchy, especially
his high notes. He reminds me of Tiger Woods. Of all the people I know
who watched “The Voice”, no one admitted to voting for Javier.

  2. Cathy Bradshaw says:

I wanted Frenchie to win to whole thing!

    • Desiree' Warner says:

Beverly is good, but a little over the top, and the whole Melissa Ethridge wanna be thing really bothers me. Frenchie is a true original and can’t be topped by Beverly!

      • Maybe if Frenchie could consistently sing in tune she would have had a chance. Her voice is ordinary and her ear is not that good. Javier is a real musician and songwriter who has been working on his craft since long before his 2003 Capitol Records debut.

        • What were you hearing. Frenchie had power and perfect pitch.Which is alot more than i can say for that Etheridge flea markt rip off. There is only so much scratchy voices yelling i can take

  3. I loved beverly, i think she was so unique and deserved to win the chance for team christina..she is awesome and i cant wait to see her go forawrd in her career, i would most deff buy her album!!

  4. I think both of them are good at what they do but Frenchie was by far the best voice in my opinion.

  5. SamuelMartinx says:

Frenchie was a true Powerhouse vocalist. She has an amazing voice and such great inner beauty that shines when she performs. She WILL go far.

    • But her ear training sucks. She often sings flat. her last 2 performances were good, but her voice is ordinary. However, she does have an arresting stage presence.

  6. Phillip Nelson says:

I wanted Frenchie to win! This voting system is not completely accurate. This is about the voice, Beverly can not sing ANYWHERE close the vocal abilities and vocal versatility that Frenchie delivers to the stage. I will still look forward to Frenchie’s album! (Let’s hope there is one soon.) She is the real winner. Remember Jennifer Hudson on Idol, she has won an Oscar and 7 Grammies (After her departure on Idol, everyone said she would not make it, now look at her.) I hope the same for Frenchie.

  7. MissIhandlemines says:

I think that everyone has valid points about both Beverly & Frenchie, bt i have 2 say i totally agree with Jr & Samuel. I <3 Frenchie!!

  8. No bad choice Frenchie is the winner in my eyes

  9. Montag Fortz says:

Colon was a lock because he was built up so much by Adam and just about everyone else. I thought he was a good singer with nothing distinctive to offer. Casey, however, is a pro and far better prepared to be an impressive addition to the music scence. Her version of the song last night was well calculated to show her imagination and talent, but, as I said, this decision was a lock.

    • Javier is a masterful songwriter. I have been following him since 2003. Listen to his song entitle, “Ok, here’s the Truth” on youtube.

  10. The only reason Frenchie was eliminated was because of the lousy songs Christina chose for her. No way can like a prayer showcase Frenchie’s amazing voice. Christina was an awful coach when it comes to choosing songs…at least for Frenchie.

  11. I’m one of the one’s that has been lucky enough to see Beverly live n many, many occasions and to own several of her CDs. I just want to dispel what seems to be a common misconception. Bev is much, much more than the rocker you have seen on the Voice. She is an accomplished musician and songwriter in own right and has a ton of original material. And she is the furthest thing from a Melisa Etheridge wannabe (as one poster called her) as you can get. Although for the record, the Vid of the cover was posted to ME’s Facebook page and ME interviewed Bev on her radio show so she loved Bev’s rendtion. Here is a link to one of her original tunes that shows the other side of one of my favorite musicians: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nh64YgLBmU
Give it a listen, it is beautiful. She has some other postings on Youtube as well. Peace.

  12. Frenchie amazes me, and I will buy anything she records. I wanted her to win and and thought she deserved it. I no longer have interest in the show. And from what I’ve read Christina is all about Christina, period the end. And to choose “Like a Prayer”…give me a break.

  13. beverly driscoll says:

I REALLY LIKED BOTH OF THESE SINGERS, THEY WERE VERY DIFFERNT IN THEIR MUSIC NUT I REALLY LIKED BEVERLY TBE BEST. STILL WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF FRENCHIE ALSO..

  14. I honestly wanted Frenchie to win,
    very disappointed

  15. I have lost interest in the show basically since Frenchie is not in the winning set. Most of the better singers are gone in my opinion…but go Javier!!

  16. Christina gave Frenchie the much more popular song . . . how can you blame Christina? It may have sounded better live, but at home I thought Frenchie’s voice was too sharp a lot.

I’m impressed that Adam took care to ensure the right singer went through. He really didn’t have 2 singers who were 50-50.

    • Yep, Frenchie has a bad ear. She often sings flat and when she is not flat, she is sharp. most people have no clue and they think a big voice makes a good singer and they are WRONG!

  17. Frenchie should not have been allowed on the show in the first place I’m sorry. She is talented but she already had a following from being a previous contestant on AI. Not fair to the others. I think Bev is great and deserved to win just as much as Frenchie.

  18. I love Frenchie. She’s a beautiful person with an amazing voice. I thought the voice was all about who has the best voice?! Frenchie deserved to win this competition. But apparently she has ” too much skin”. We all know she has the best voice of all the contestants. The whole show is pointless now. Frenchie will come far! I’m waiting for her album :D
