Toby Maguire is under fire this week for his connection with a multi-million dollar illegal gambling ring. According to reports, Maguire on more than $300k from a hedge fund manager who was using money he embezzled from his investor’s funds.
Currently the FBI is investigating Brad Ruderman, CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners, who allegedly lost $25 million in these high stakes poker games held in a Beverly Hills hotel and the Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. He has been convicted on two counts of wire fraud and two counts of investment advisor fraud. He will serve until 2018.
Maguire wasn’t the only one involved in these poker games – apparently Leonardi DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon had been seen at these games from numerous sources. The games had a buy-in of 100k. However, they aren’t being sued at this time.
One source DOES say that Maguire was making around $1 million a month from these poker games over a three year period.
“That means he could have made up to $30 to $40 million from these games,” a source says.
Other who are in danger of a law suit are Paris Hilton’s infamous sex tape buddy Rick Salomon, Record label holder Cody Leibel, Entrepreneur and real estate develop Andrew Sasson, Alex Gores a business man, Welcome Back Kotter star Gabe Kaplan and The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes.
