Lady Gaga Being Sued by Japanese Earthquake Charity – Does she Deserve it?
Lady Gaga is in a bit of trouble today – seems she hasn’t been as charitable as we’d like to think she and is currently being sued by a Japanese Earthquake Charity for scamming the charity out of money meant for to help the Japanese earthquake.
The lawsuit is over a campaign Lady Gaga started for the victims of Japan. She sold armbands that said “We Pray For Japan”, charged $5 per armband and another $3.99 for shipping & handling. Although it isn’t uncommon for a charity to hold back a portion of their sales for administrative purposes they usually have the information handy if someone asks how much.
Ari Kresh, a Michigan attorney is suing Lady Gaga for $5 million dollars. His claim? The singer never disclosed how much of the $5 armbands was going to the victims. When he tried to find out the exact amount, Lady Gaga’s people admitted that a portion of the proceeds were being held at this time.
Kresch claims that he’s not doing this for the money but for the victims in Japan who deserve the money that Lady Gaga said she would give.
“I’m suing Lady Gaga simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for,” he said.
He is suing Lady Gaga for racketeering and corruption.
Do you think Lady Gaga deserves to be sued over this?
