Will Jennifer Lopez Sign onto American Idol?
News has it that judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have both signed on for the next season of American Idol. While Jennifer Lopez is mysteriously absent.
She has been very hesitant to return to American Idol and hasn’t announced her plans either way. I can’t seem to figure out if it’s a ratings ploy, a ploy for more money or a ploy to raise awareness for another project but I am convinced it is a ploy of some kind!
When asked by BBC Radio if she will be returning he answered.
“I don’t know. I haven’t been forced to make a decision and I’m glad about that because honestly I’m very on the fence about it.”
“I have not decided whether I’m going back yet. It’s not time [to decide] and I have a lot of things happening.” She told Alan Carr in an interview in Britain. “ And I really got to decide whether I’m going to do a film or if I’m gonna go on tour or if I’m going back to TV. I really don’t know yet.”
A music exec made it very clear to PopEater that while American Idol did help her career, she didn’t necessarily save American Idol either.
“‘Idol’ has resurrected [Lopez's] much-stalled music career. Likewise, ‘Idol’ didn’t fall apart when Simon [Cowell] left and Jennifer has to get some of the credit for that. But let’s also remember the show didn’t increase in ratings and that is also thanks to J.Lo.”
Ouch.
If Jennifer Lopez didn’t return – who would like to see in the judge’s chair?
