New Beyonce “Best Thing I Never Had” Vid (WATCH!)
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s small, intimate wedding took place in a Tribeca loft, because Beyonce is not a “traditional woman,” she says, and didn’t want the drama. “It’s been my day so many days already,” she told Essence. But with her new video for her single “Best Thing I Never Had,” she gets to live out the traditional wedding fantasy, romping around in two big wedding gowns and some gorgeous white lingerie.
The song is about an old dud of a boyfriend who does not get to see her walk down the aisle. “Sucks to be you right now,” she sings in one of the less eloquent lines.
The soft, poppy throwback song is a departure from “Run The World (Girls),” the dancey, world music-inspired first single from her new album 4. When I first heard “Best Thing I Never Had” on the radio, I thought maybe I had missed one of her tracks from the early 2000s.
