Scarlett Johansson Turns Down Marine (WATCH!)
It was cute when Sgt. Scott Moore asked Mila Kunis to the Marine Corp. Ball…and it was cute when female marine Kelsey De Santis asked Mila’s Friends with Benefits costar Justin Timberlake the same thing…
But then another Marine, Sgt. Dustin L. Williams, figured he could jump on the bandwagon and ask Scarlett Johansson to another Marine Corps. Ball, which takes place Nov. 10 in Atlanta, GA. I can’t blame him for trying, since celebs want to look like they support their country…but what if EVERY Marine asked a celeb? According to E! News, Scarlett declined.
Now, Scarlett was classy about the whole thing. Here’s her response: “I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams,” she said. “Not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for filmmaking. Sgt. Williams unfortunately, due to prior commitments, I will not be able to attend the ball with you this year, but I am sending you a case of Moët and Chandon with gratitude. In my absence, I raise a glass to you and all the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps, past and present, in thanks for your continued commitment to preserving the safety of our nation.”
