Many Bachelorette fans were disappointed to learn that Ashley Hebert picked JP Rosenbaum on tonight’s finale, leaving season favorite Ben F shocked and brokenhearted. Ben was confident that he and Ashley would get engaged at the Final Rose Ceremony and had even picked out the ring he planned to propose with.
After getting down on one knee, the self-proclaimed “biggest skeptic” when it comes to love was devastated to learn that he was not the one Ashley was choosing to spend the rest of her life with.
Now that fans know the outcome, many are rooting for Ben F to become the next Bachelor.
While I personally think he is a complete sweetheart with a lot to offer a woman, I don’t think I would like to see him as the next Bachelor. He wasn’t all that interesting to watch and, while he seemed genuine and sincere about finding love, it wasn’t exciting seeing him fall in love with Ashley and probably wouldn’t be that exciting seeing him try and fall in love with 25 other women.
Now that you know that Ben F wasn’t picked tonight, I have to ask: Would you like to see Ben F as the next Bachelor?

I fell in love with Ben…he was real, is handsome, great body, fun & passionate about his family and work. Something really cool and laidback, but romantic and fresh. He deserves LOVE and ashely is stupid!

I would like to see Ben as the next Bachelor. I don’t think he had a bad attitude when he learned he was not chosen by Ashley, as an earlier post stated. He was clearly hurt and stunned that he wasn’t chosen. He seems to be a genuine man who isn’t afraid to show his vulnerabilities. He’s a gentle soul who knows how to be fun and funny, and he’s smart enough to own his own business. He is quite a catch… and handsome on top of it all. Ben deserves better than what he got.
I loved Ben but thought he was too good for Ashley–actually more adult than Ashley–although she’s a sweet immature female, she’s better off with JP. Please don’t let Ben go through it all again–look locally Ben–Sonoma has some wonderful women–they’re right under your nose!

Love Ben. Not sure how he would do dating multiple women, but I’d rather see him than anyone else. I think Constantine would be great too, but I hear that he is not interested. Same with Ryan…good guy, but may not have the passion/love potential with a lot of women because he was portrayed as cheesey and annoying. I think he’s a sweet guy though. Ashley was crazy to let Ben go… What a mistake. I think she has a pattern of poor decision making when it comes to love. Ben will be a great husband and father to some lucky woman. Seems like Ashley is the one who is happy now, but in the end Ben will find true happiness with a woman who is not insecure and needy. The only reason Ashley chose jp was because he told her constantly how much he wanted to be with her. On Brads season, it was the same thing, she needed constant reassurance.

I think people forget how angry Ashley was when Brad sent her home! Ben is genuine and sincere. I think he has such positive energy and would love to see him grow even more as a person. He seems to be sensitive so it would be interesting to see how he handles the experience when the tables are turned. He’s very well spoken and an all around great guy!

Please choose Ben F. to be the next bachelor. He is totally hot, sexy, and sweet. I think we would all be mad in that situation thinking that person could have given us some hint that we might not be the one. She gave him confidence and he was just shocked and had a real reaction. He didn’t get nasty to her at all. I do wish the best for Ryan but don’t think he is fit to be the next bachelor. William would be my 2nd pick assuming he is truly sorry and is not as mean as he acted when he did his comedy act. I liked William early on. I just have to comment about Ashley’s sister, Chrystie. She claimed she was only looking out for Ashley’s best interest. After all, she knew Ashley her whole life, and felt Ashley was “not herself” around JP. I find this so interesting, esp. since Chrystie claimed to be so “rational.” Ben is a laid back guy who makes wine in Sonoma, and Chrystie thinks Ashley — being high energy, life of the party — fits better in THAT environment than NYC? Huh?! What an idiot.

This was the first time I became so emotional when someone wasn’t picked. I loved Ben, he didn’t rush things and the very best thing about him was his sense of humor. I would really like to see him on the next bachelor. I was absolutely devastated that he wasn’t the one but to be perfectly honest, I didn’t like Ashley that much and I think Ben could get better and deserves better. To let him get down on his knee when she knew he wasn’t the one was selfish and in poor taste on her part. She is bow legged, she has an obsession with her hair and she is constantly chewing her lips. Ugh.

I agree with all of the posts that Ashley should not have let Ben get down on one knee on national TV. That was in poor taste . . . but who else would choose to have a comedy roast where she is the guest of honor and then not be able to take the comments OR even better, have the guys all physically fight for her in a boxing ring – VERY POOR TASTE. I did like Ashley going into the season, but no more. She is very insecure and needs constant reassuring – GROW UP! I think that Willam got a bad reputation because he did not hold back during the roast. I applaud him for that – that is what a roast is all about. With all of Ashley’s insecurities, she was just DUMB to have that as a date and she got what she deserved. I vote WILLIAM as the next bachelor. He will make the season interesting and FUN!

Ashley is stupid. She kept picking Constantine to stay which had Constantine confused as well. Everytime a guy would tell her that he didn’t know where he stood with her, she’d go and run to get a rose (i.e. Ryan and Blake) only to go on and get rid of them. JP on the other hand was aging and torn from a previous relationship so I think he would’ve grabbed anything halfway decent. Hence, I wish Ashley and JP a wonderful MEDIOCRE life. Ashley led Ben F. on to think she would chose him. When she was cuddling and kissing him she used her index finger to say “come here and kiss me” If that wasn’t a tease or a lie, what was it. The poor guy was strung along only to be dumped. His reaction was true and honest. This Ashley used him terribly. She should have not kissed him so much and acted like he was the one. You see some people are moral and save their romance for the right girl or guy. Ben is this type, loyal, moral and decent. Ashley messed with his mind. What a bad girl.
Wow… Ben, Ryan, Ames… three good catches in one net ! But sadly Ashley chose the net that caught JP. It seems Ashley kept choosing the guys who did not care for her and she has mistaken JP’s jealous nature as meaning he cares for her. Ben is adorable, sweet, kind and hot! Ashley thought she saw Ben get angry when she just rejected him? I never saw him act aggressive, jealous, controlsing whatsoever. On the other hand JP had the most anger, and a touch of possibly a violent side than, anyone on the whole season? Good Lord Ashley is just Lame! Talk about the BAD boys! She chose the only one that had such a spoiled little boy reaction to anything and anyone that made him feel threatened. Watch out Ashley, I married someone that hat a temper, jealous, angry, and violent side? Maybe that is what broke him and the other girl that broke his heart up. He was probably possessive, obsessives jealous and violent with her and she couldn’t take it. I have a bad feeling. I’m glad Ben did not end up with Ashley because he is way to good for her. He was clearly the better guy. But her poor taste (dare we mention Bentley?) and her constant display of insecurity should have been warning signs to Ben. I think Constantine caught on and made a dash for it! She led Ben on to believe that he was the one and I agree with all of the above … he had class and to let him get down on one knee was horrible since it appeared she had made her decision the night before. I sincerely hope Ashley and JP’s relationship works, but I too have my doubts. There are several negative signals. But I also know you cannot choose for another. I would much have preferred to have her choose Ben F who is just plain a class act all the way around. I do feel Ashley missed the boat on this one. If you want a show that is truly sincere and honest then Ben is definately the best bachelor for this! Everybody would watch because we all know that he would not make any girl feel bad being sent home. I know whoever he chooses will be everlasting!!! No doubt about it!! Just listen to her words on the last date “he’s a friend, a lover, I’m falling in love with Ben”…..why would she say all of those words if she was already in love with J.P. Seems like the physical attraction took over for Ashley verses true compatability. And yes, couldn’t agree more that it was in very poor taste to have the poor guy go through with the proposal. She should have been more classy and did what Ali did, let the guy down in person, and take her chances with J.P. Bad move Ashley, very, very bad. Even though she was annoying and totally lacked confidence, I still liked her up until that moment. And by all means, BEN is the man for the show, no one else please!!!
I think Ben has too much dignity and self worth to allow himself to be vulnerable in that sortof situation again, especially on national television. He is a down to earth guy and I don’t think he was meant to find love the way that tried to. For those of you who find him boring, Id just like to say that Ben is probably one of the first guys to appear on this show who was true, genuine and compassionate to a woman that didnt even deserve it. The Bachelor should be someone whos looking for someone who values fun and beauty rather than true love and friendsip because thats really all they get out of it, itsn it?

Hey for all you people that hate Bentley, he only did all that because the show paid him to add entertainment to the show. And Ashley was acting through a lot of the season. With that said, Ben is way too good for Ashley.
I’ve never seen anyone on either the Bachelor or Bachelorette make such a fool of someone as Ashley did of Ben. She only kept him around in case JP didn’t follow through. Ben had more than a right to be angry with her. She should have taken a page from Ali’s book and told the guy she was sending home the night before to save him the embarrasement. Instead, the last time we see her with him, she’s rapping her legs around his back and giving him every assurance that he was the one. I think the reason she picked JP was because as she said – he would catch her when she falls” and if her behaviour on the show is anything to go by, those two will need a safety net every day. Don’t see this one working. Ben had to be most unique and sincere guy I’ve seen on that show since Ryan and Trista had the brains to know a good thing when she saw it. But Trista is so much more mature than Ashely, who is a baby.
About Ben being the next Bachelor, I think he’s too sincere for shows of this kind and I’d hate to see him get hurt again. None of these relationships work and I think he’ll have no problem finding someone through the normal dating processes. As far as who becomes the next Bachelor, I could care less. This last series so turned me off I will never watch another one.

I picked Ben as my favorite early on. His good looks, humility and sense of humor were a heart stopper every week. As much as I would love to spend more of my Monday nights watching him and counting the days until every next episode, I think he is too genuine and classy for reality tv. I hope he finds sincere lasting love through a more normal process. I was angry at the way Ashley set him up just to add more drama to her already over the top season of superficial romance. I want to wish Ben great happiness, follow up on him through the internet from time to time, and buy his wine. Have a great life, you deserve better than Ashley.
It seems to be unanimous, majority of us want Ben to be the next Bachelor. I;m not sure if he would want to be the center of attention tho. i don’t think I could handle Ame’s Barbie smile for a whole season.
