After a long struggle with weight gain and loss and a charmed turn on Dancing With the Stars (which helped her get back down to fighting weight) Alley, a sitcom veteran, is back with a new show on ABC this fall.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Alley has landed a multi-camera sitcom called The Manzanis.
From the description, we’re picturing Roseanne but with Kirstie Alley at the helm of the big, raucousness family that is shaking up a, “repressed country club town.”
With vets of Caroline in the City and Ellen at the helm (Marco Pennette and Dave Flebotte respectively) we can probably expect solid, traditional sitcom goodness from The Manzanis. Hopefully the sort that will keep Alley on the air for a while – she brings back memories of the good old days of sitcom history, when network television was actually funny!
