George Lopez Monologue 8/10/11 – Jokes About His Cancellation (WATCH!)
George Lopez’s TBS late night talk show Lopez Tonight was cancelled yesterday – but that won’t stop him from making jokes about it. On last night’s show, George addressed the bad news in his monologue. Check it out:

“So in case you didn’t hear the news, TBS has decided not to renew Lopez Tonight,” George told the audience. “But that’s alright! So hey! Did you guys see the news?. Unemployment is at an all-time high and for Latinos it just got a little higher.”
He continued: “I did get some good news this morning though. Sony announced they were doing a sequel to The Smurfs movie. So today I lost some work because I’m brown, but also I got some work because I’m blue.”
Some have speculated that Conan’s arrival at the cable network killed George’s show, which got moved to midnight and suffered a ratings slump. Did Conan do to George what Jay Leno did to Conan? Obviously it’s not Conan’s fault, and Conan only agreed to go to TBS after George welcomed him to the network… but it still kinda sucks for George.
I’m sure he’ll land somewhere, or at least continue with stand-up comedy. Are you a George Lopez fan?
