Kristen Stewart W Magazine Cover: Photoshop Much?
Kristen Stewart is one of the most successful actresses in the world. She’s beautiful and talented and doesn’t need to be photo-shopped to death in order to produce a captivating magazine cover. Regardless, W Magazine felt the need to digitally altar the Twilight star beyond the point of recognition for their latest cover.
Sure, Kristen looks great on the cover. Her piercing blue eyes, perfect complexion and voluminous hair produce an intriguing cover shot – but it’s not her. The photo makes her appear well-beyond her age and her lips don’t even look the same shape.
Kristen is the latest celebrity to become digitally altered for a magazine cover. Julia Roberts found herself in the middle of controversy after an almost unrecognizable photo was released of her promoting a cosmetic company.
The question I often struggle with when it comes to these types of photos is whether the blame should be put on the celebrity or the publishing company. I mean, sure, it’s the publishing company that wants the photo to look good but the celebrity should always have the right to say “no alterations, I want people to see me the way I am.”
What do you think of Kristen’s W Magazine cover – and do you think it should be up to her to say that the photo is photo-shopped too much?
