Kate Gosselin has made it very clear over the past few years that she plans to stay on TV as long as people want to watch her. Well, that may be sooner rather than later since we just found out that TLC has cancelled Kate Plus 8 and will no longer be following Kate and her kids with cameras.
“TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8,” a network rep told PEOPLE in a statement. “By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”
Ratings for her original hit show Jon and Kate Plus 8 soared as the couple went through a tumultuous breakup but after a bitter divorce battle, many viewers became more concerned with the health and well-being of the kids than the ratings of the show.
There’s no doubt that Kate will likely be devastated by this news, considering she’s made it very clear that she loves being on TV and getting the chance to travel and experience things with her kids but what’s next for the 36-year-old single mom?
Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if she secured a deal for her own talk show.
In fact, wouldn’t be surprised if she already has a contract drawn up to kick off a show on OWN.
Anyone else venture a guess as to what’s next for Kate Gosselin?
I never liked the show in the first place. Good riddance!!! Maybe now her children can grow up with a little bit of normalcy.
well i think kate is a great person raising 8 kids on her own thats amazing and people shouldn’t be judging here until there in her shoes doing what she does, so people slagging her of are doing wrong BIGTIME!!Yes the kids should have a normal life but what would you do if you had 8 kids and your a sisngle parent ?
I do like the show but i feel its all about Kate and always has been. The kids are gorgeous but they need to be out of the spotlight and live a normal life.
